I'm Preparing A Cube Club At My School

WHAT!
THIS IS MADNESS!!!

72 cubes for a club?
How big is your school?
wtf?

We're not really that big. The whole school is about 2,500 people (est)
and are expecting at least 40 people at most (which is unlikely). We are going to do lunchtime competitions so people can see speedcubing in action, and hopefully be interested themselves.

BUGGING ME SO MUCH!!!
lolfail.

Lol. Wow. I meant that the biggest number of people we are expecting is at least 40

That still doesn't make sense to me. <40 or >40?

OMGWTFPIGALOO!!!!
LUCKY!!!!
I wish my school had cubers in it...I don't even know one peson who can even just solve the cube, let alone SPEEDsolve it.... :(

That's why, when people ask you to teach them, you say "No. I learned by myself from (insert source here), you can too" If they're serious, they will learn, and then once you see them being serious, then you help them.

lolwut!?

Exactaly, though no one actually takes the effort to go to the source i tell them...(YT searching "how to solve a rubiks cube")
Well then they don't really want to know. You should try talking to yourself. It's actually really fun

OK, I'm bumping this because tomorrow is the day! I'm planning to do a BLD solve for the club, hoping for some motivation for them. Any last minute advice?

i was thinking about starting up a club because me and three of my friends started cubing last year and now i see kids at school solving all the time. It feels kind of pointless because i am a senior

Bump again to report progress.

We have 21 people! I've taught one girl already, another 5 people have learned, everyone else is getting faster. We have a district competition on april, and more people are planning to join, we have recieved our order of 80 cubes. Rubik's brand, but all of them move really well. =)

2500 PEOPLE!!! I WOULD CALL THAT BIG!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey i have been thinking about startiing a cube club at my school too:) but i am not entireley sure if i should. I want to since i dont know a single person in all of my city area and i am interested in hopefully finding some or making some new ones.

Can you please explain how you got it set up. I already taught a prievious friends math teacher how to solve it and i would hope she would be ther person to supervise.

Can someone give me somefeed back if you think i should do it??? I want to join a robotic club next year too but i dont know wat would look better for college??? If i am planning to be an engineer.
lucky, my teachers always tell me to put my cube away in class...
I wonder if any teacher at my school can solve one. My school is like 1,200 people I'm pretty sure. Hmm...hopefully I can get something started.

Mine do too. Except for my French teacher who thinks I have ADHD or Schizo and I need to play with it so I don't move around. I'm pretty sure one of your math teachers can do it. Just go around and ask. The advantage of having a cube club is that they won't be able to ban cubes at school.

lol it is Ironic how are mascot is the trojans also, we have about 2,500 people and that i have french also??? do you go to my school??? I doubt it though i am in northwest PA. :)

Cool to see a cubing club doing well.

My school is under a cube fad that has its origins from me. Now, there's many cubing wannabees. They bring cubes to school, try to impress people with their 3 minute times, then lose interest after a few weeks -.- All of them got their inspiration to learn (directly or indirectly) from yours truly.

Thing is, none of them are truly interested and they seem to be more interested in impressing people (and perhaps jumping a few popularity ranks) than the actual hobby, so they'res on potential for a club there :p

same thing happened to me, and it's still going
and i started this hobby over a year ago
it pisses me off, alot
that's why i don't take my puzzles to schoo either
if i take my 2x2, people bug the crap out of me
and i get them taken away when i didn't even use them

The thing is, you will always be better (Considering you're fast), so no matter how fast they claim to be, you can always shut them up. It works.
