since a rubiks brand makes a lot of noise, try to purposely solve it all the time to annoy your parents until they tell you to stop with the cube. You can then tell them that the "knockoffs" make less noise, it could convince your parents.
if that is really a concern, the rubik's RSC is pretty decent I think.
Parents tend to ban things permanently if they get annoyed
not all parents do. Most parents probably say to stop making so much noise with the cube.
