I'm getting sick and tired of the childish behaviour here.

But I'm probably the only one that thinks this way, and has been here as long as I have.

Are you serious? you haven't even been here for a year. plenty of others have been here for almost 3... Don't go thinking you are a forum veteran when you have little experience of speedsolving in its "glory days", when almost every thread had a purpose and generated a good discussion.

I wish I could have been there. That sounds wonderful... :(

Hmm. I think that the way to end all this is not to reply to "bad/stupid" or answered threads.
As fanwuq said, Rubik's Cube Fan's first post could have easily ended the thread, but nooo. Some people had to continue the thread, flaming the new member. Yes, I know it may have been fun, but still, that is what is killing this forum. All those "superior" people thinking that they can do whatever they want.

Yes, we should have a greater number of stricter moderators like Dan and Stefan (I think they're strict enough), who will not hesitate to remove threads and send warnings. A poll seems fine.

I know I may have given sarcstic answers and flamed some threads in the past, but I stopped that.

Unlike Youtube, speedsolving isn't a community in which, the more people like you, the more people will view your threads. Everyone will view everyone's threads evenly.
Not true. I don't have time to read everything and I do base my selection of what threads to open partly on who created them, and I often skim through threads and only read posts of people who I know are valuable.

I wasn't saying...ugh wow. Holy ****.

Edit: I'm sorry I worded that poorly. I was just saying I'm not like, brand new or anything. My bad, that did come across as arrogant I can see where you were coming from...

See my latest post.
Rubik's Cube Fan made a nice 1st reply that should have ended the topic.
But no. Insults came and then Dene declared it a LOLthread and Bam. Yeah we all love Dene, but sometimes I think he goes too far with beginners who don't know his style.
I think that's a great idea. Unfortunately it requires the rest of the forum members to exhibit maturity and restraint, two things that seem to elude many of the most frequent posters. I'm sure most of them are reading this now and think I'm referring to someone else.

I know you are going to get mad at me for saying this, and deem me as some idiotic kid who knows nothing, but it seems that a lot of your posts are attacking someone on, or off, the forums. I know most of what you say is true, but I don't think it is really necessary to constantly be attacking someone. Even if it is noobs, the new members would take it in one of two ways.

1) They put their tail between their legs and whimper, and are scared into not posting much/at all.

or
2) They get angry (As examplified by RubiksMathMaster's response: http://www.speedsolving.com/forum/showpost.php?p=205688&postcount=38) and they start to randomly flame and spam for no reason except anger.

So I know you are going to blow this off as some idiot who knows nothing, but I really don't think all the bashing is necessary, whether the person deserves it or not.

Explain to me your definition of "a lot". I just went through my last couple hundred posts and I counted fewer than 10 posts that *might* be "attacking" and half of them were in a single thread that I apologized for.

Do you think I was talking about you? If you think I was talking about you, why don't you ask yourself why you'd think so. Guilty conscience?

No, I didn't think you were talking about me, but then again your post said that the people you were talking about didn't think it was themselves, so you are setting everyone up for "I dont think hes talking about me, but he is"

My term 'a lot' did not work, what I should have said is all the posts I have seen you make. But then again I don't stalk you so I don't know where you post.

As well as attacking me for a question you didn't understand in my "Member Introduction" thread.

I just know that in my thread in the Member Introduction section you attacked me for a question that you didn't understand, as well as a few other posts.
And that was the thread I apologized for. After reading several threads that you'd either participated in or started, I read your post in a way that you apparently didn't mean. I now think you meant your tone to be conciliatory, the first time I read it I thought you were trying to start something with all the people that you'd been arguing with in the other threads. So, now, for the second time, I apologize, I'm sorry for that.

On a vaguely interesting tangent, while reading through my old posts, I noticed something that could explain why you see more of my annoyed posts than my others. It seems that most all of my annoyed posts are in threads that you're a part of. Why do you think that might be?

Because the threads were based around mdude quiting, or maybe the thread about his trustfullness, all of which have erupted into giant flaming threads. I get annoyed by those threads as well. This is just a guess other than...that you hate monkeydude...although I really doubt you don't.

Well, I absolutely don't hate monkeydude. He just seems to end up in of a lot of the flame fests that have sprung up in the past few weeks.

I'm not the one doing the flaming in those threads. I'm the one trying to cover my ass for either stupid videos, or stupid things I have said. I had no intention on starting flame wars.

And I was careful not to imply that you try to start these flame wars. But, do you have any idea why you're always in the middle of them? I don't have an answer, I'm just wondering if you do.

Because the way I was brought into the forum was by some kid embedding a video of mine, claiming he was confused about it, then people took what I said in the video the wrong way, assumed I was quitting cubing, and then the flamers came in from there.

They obviously didn't have anything else to flame on for a while because that thread got to 25 pages or so of non-stop "kill the kid" posts.

And so now with that wonderful introduction to the forums, people know me as "the kid who was going to quit cubing because he was denied partnership" rather then taking the real meaning of that video which was "Im going to slow down on making vidoes for a while." And with that title, people find me as a dumb, retarded, idiotic f*ckface who cares about nothing but Youtube and obviously has nothing intelligent to say.

THEN when people start posting dumb threads about me, the flame wars start again. Such as that one by some kid who said everyone hates me, and for them to post reasons why.

anyway, everyones view of me then was as I stated before, and it is starting to die down a little, but some people just won't let go.

Which I guess is the reason there are flamers, and stupid posts about me.
I'd rather they just all stop making these dumb threads and let the forum go back to how it was before I came.

~Chris

I agree with Monkeydude on the overdoing of his flaming. Did he deserve a little bit? Sure. Does he deserve as much as he gets? Not a chance. Honestly Chris you picked a bad time to join the forums. I don't think you are really responsible for half the flaming that is surrounding you to answer Brunson's question. I think your reputation on this forum is just bad now, however personally I have nothing against you.

I had no choice. That kid forced me to join to defend myself from being massacred by the masses.

Chris. Listen to me. You need to stop talking about all the threads and hate towards you. The more you talk about it, and the more you try to defend yourself or justify the things you say/have said, the more people are going to give you crap.

JUST STOP. As soon as YOU stop, everyone else will. You're constantly making posts like this one, and you need to stop.

Unfortunately that's how the internet is, and you need to adapt to that. As soon as you stop and then just fade into the community, and become a normal member like the rest of us, all of this will go away (in time, of course).

He was asked if he knew what started it, so he answered. I don't see anything wrong with that.

You're constantly making posts like this one, and you need to stop.

"Constantly", in this context, implies that he does this all the time, which would suggest that I'm not only referring to this specific post.
