Okay, hi.
I can solve a cube in about 1:20 on average.
The way I solve it is really beginner.
I'm ready to move on to a faster harder way to solve it.
My cube is shaved, and it's lubricated with silicone.
Can anyone tell me what method of solving it I should learn?

i guess we could maybe do a thing where the first time you get logged in, you are redirected to a specific thread that addresses most of the repeating questions. This should cover most of these repeat threads.

You know, I don't think it's a bad thing that people ask questions - even if the questions have been asked and answered before. Forums are dynamic, not static. New members join into the conversation all the time, and each makes a valuable contribution.

Before I found this forum I stumbled upon twistypuzzles.com, and I was thrilled to find that there were other people like me who liked puzzles. I joined the forum right away, but once I read the posts I decided not to bother because I'd never met such a mean-spirited group of people in all my life. Every time a new poster posts a message, all the long-standing members attack him. If the new poster uses the search function and posts questions or comments about an older post, he is attacked for dragging up an old post. If the new poster simply asks questions or comments without researching the archives, he's attacked for not using the search function. It's like being caught between a rock and a hard place - the bottom line is they just don't want newbies there. That's fine - I was really glad to find this forum where people are a whole lot nicer.

Abbracadiabra,
I think that asking a question that wasn't covered just a couple of days ago is completely legitimate. The only thing that made me respond the way I did, was that there have been about 5 threads very recently on this same subject. I would much rather have an old thread revive than to have a somewhat duplicate thread. Also, I'm completely thrilled about the number of new members. I think it's a great thing that more people are becoming interested in cubing. I'm all for people asking for help, but I would just rather have them ask for help in a thread that has already pretty much answered they're questions.

Sorry, masterofthebass. I did not mean to imply that your response was the same as what I saw on the twistypuzzles forum. I just hate to discourage asking questions. You're absolutely right that there have been at least five threads in the last couple of days that have asked the same (or a very similar) question.
