I want to do an experiment because it appears that many people are talking about how some cubes are better for cubers at different speeds, always taking into account two things. One, cube speed difference. Two, cuber in control.
To summarize my thoughts on the topic, I think that increased cube speed encourages/trains increased cuber control. The "uncontrollable" cubes must be controllable when one gets used to it, right? Well, that's what I'm hoping to find out.
Right now, I'm using the original Rubik's Speed Cube (the one with the original part shapes). I do a little over 35 seconds average with it (because I still use an inefficient 4LLL after 2 years of little to no practice and having forgotten most of my 3LLL algs). What if I tried to go from using that, to using the MoYo WeiLong? And in the meantime learning algs for a speed method?
Could I skip over the 25-35 second times pretty rapidly? Just how much difference would I have to get used to? Will the universe explode on the first solve?
I don't care much if I get better at cubing or not, and a cube is pretty cheep. Also, I LOVE to have fun, and I think this would be a great challenge.
What do you think? Should I do it for science?
