I literally just got my elite.... Here's a quick review!

First off this cube sucks.... Not really. This is one of the best cubes I have ever touched. When it came it felt a bit gummy but I think it was because of the weather. When it warmed up and I turned it a few minutes it was really good. I decided not to just do my first solve on it but to do and Ao12. The fifth solve in I got my PB of 16.06NL
seconds. I want to say This cube is a bit pricey but when you think about it Donovan works really hard on his ultimate's and a lot more on his elite's. It did take awhile for it to come but he is so awesome he gave some free Lubix for my "trouble". It doesn't turn very fast but it turns at a controllable yet quick speed. With breaking it in it has an amazing feel and it cuts corners a little bit more than 45 degrees.That ends my quick review. I want to thank Donovan for the amazing cube and amazing dedication you gave to get all of the elite's done. Anyone else have an elite or ultimate you want to tell me about because I saw some Ultimate vs. Elite conversations on some threads, so can someone tell me the difference besides that the elite is more controllable but the ultimate is faster. Thank you!

Well I think the Elites are more controllable than both of my other Guhongs. It does cut a bit better and it feels so much smoother. There a literally no pops on my elite though my Guhongs pop more often. And overall solves with the Elite feel a lot more fluent in my opinion.

How quiet is the elite? and do you know what type of plastic the elites are?

It clicky but not in a clicky way.... it's hard to explain. It's the sound of the tracks on the pieces I think that makes the sound. And I don't know what the plastic is but I do know Guhongs are built with a strong plastic.

My guhong POM is good enough for me. It cuts 40, reverse cuts about 20, no clickiness at all, extremely fast, etc. I just think it is 'my' perfect cube, so I don't 'personally' see a reason to get another 3x3. (Except maybe MF8 and Alpha CC when they come out) All personal preference.

Good to hear others get the same feel from the cube that Donovan and I do. I am glad overall you understand how much time we spend on the cubes to get them to what we deem to be perfect. Also sorry about the wait. It's hard to get motivated to sit down for 3 hours to scrape a cube. Heh.... we built another one tonight.
