hello my friends.

I used to average sub-20 on 3x3x3 and about 15min for BLD. I don't even remeber my NxNxN cube averages.
I know I can find all my answers in this forum, on youtube, and google. but you can help me get to my goals faster.

1) my cube is F-II. it was the best one 5 years ago. what is the best one currently? is there any significant change in new cubes?

2) is there any famous F2L video which is a must see? I'm not even sure if I can remember how i solved the F2L.

3) I don't remember any OLL - PLL. which website has the best ones, in a good layout to print? some pages have a ton of algorithms for one condition and its hard for me to choose the one for a noob.

4) is v-cubes still the best NxN producer? did they make 3x3 finally or not? :D

5) I get lost in BLD section of the forum. how do I start it again? any simple video? I used the T-perm method.

6) is there anything else I need to know, or you like to tell me?

again, I know I can google, but your answers encourages me to start.
I need some motivation. I still remember how lovely people your are.

1. Yes. Definitely changes but there is no best cube. It has gotten so good, it's personal preference. It depends on your budget and what type of cube you want (smooth, crunchy, bumpy, scratchy)
2. Not sure. I think badmephisto's video on F2L is good, but it's been a while since I watched it
3. The one I learnt off is http://badmephisto.com/badmephisto-speedcubing-method.pdf
4. No. :D We're quite past that stage. If you're looking for 5x5+ at a good price, go ShengShou. If you're into serious competition look into : 4x4 = Moyu Aosu, Yuxin 4x4 (Not the Lion), Cyclone Boys G4. 5x5 : Yuxin 5x5, 6x6 : Not sure. Have a look at Shengshou and Moyu Aoshi, 7x7 : Moyu Cubic Aofu or Shengshou mini.
(Well they did make a pillowed 3x3 in 2012)
5. Cubing World has a good video but it is not the T-perm method, so I don't know how to help you there
6. Youtube channels have grown a lot. Have a look at some of them: JRCuber, Cubeologist, SpeedCubeReview

Make a Youtube channel. JRCuber even said how he was losing interest in cubing and the only thing keeping him going is his cubing youtube channel. Or go to some competitions if there is any around.

Edit : Actually at someone your speed, you probably know all the stuff in BadMephisto's Videos, have a look at CyoTheKing. He has definitely got the most educational content that I know of. If you need help on specifically getting faster, post an avg of 5 and users here will comment on what to improve on and how

Welcome back :)
I can't answer all of them but I'll answer the ones I can
4- Vcube is outdated, the best big cubes are now produced by Moyu and Yuxin(mostly).
The F2 is way outdated too, cubes have gotten a whole lot better! Watch Cubey Time's 3x3 mega comparison video to understand which is the best one for you.

Hope this helped [emoji14]

1. You missed the Dayan age, that is so weird :D The best 3x3s on the market now are Weilong, Aolong, Hualong, Guanlong, Mofangge, Gans 356 and some others. Just get whatever you want. Cubes nowadays are perfection
2. I don't know, but I think you should learn from the best. Here is one link. Don't watch tutorials and example solves from slow people (I mean like over10). Practice on your own and replace inefficient algorithms with better ones over the time
3. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gYvCj0dpvKk. Nothing to say more :p And you should learn a few algos for U perms, Z perm etc.
4. Yes, they made all the cubes from 2x2-8x8. But they are crap :D Get 5x5 Yuxin.
5. The best tutorial I know is the one from Maskow ("current" WR holder for MBLD 41/41 and 3BLD), but it's in Polish I guess. Can't help you with this one I guess

6. Practise one event and become a beast in it. Practising everything just for satisfaction is a waste of time. I mean, really.. if you will practise everything you will accomplish nothing. Feliks is the exception ;)

Yeah, Feliks and Rob and Lucas and all the other people in the top ten Kinchranks...

Actually, no. Practise as many events as you want to stop yourself getting bored. It's a good idea to at least know how to solve most types of cubes.

Feliks...is definitely the exception. He holds at least one record in 3x3 - 7x7. He's Australian :D and skipped a year in school. Kind of

Man, I don't want to be rude but Lucas's only achievement was 5x5 CR which stood like 2 weeks. And Rob's was 4x4 CR 6 years ago. Yu is maybe the other exception.

WRs and CR are not the only things that matter really. Both Rob and Lucas rank fairly highly in a lot of events. In fact, there's no guarentee that you will even get world standard in one event even if you specialise in it so it's better to be pretty good at a lot of events IMO unless you find you are exceptionally adept at a certian event but even then it's good to be at least somewhat neutral.

Completely wrong here, Id much rather be one of the best overall cubers and hold not even US NR in any event than to hold WR in an event and only be good In 2-3 events and absolutely suck at all other events.

also to the op

1 as said before there are a multitude of cubes to chose from, look at some reviews and comparisons. Once you get your new cube, you will be blown away by it.
2 From what I've heard Badmephistos tutorials are still good today, If you want to look at Advanced F2L and LL stuff later look at Cyotheking (Chris Olson) he has good vids
3 speedsolving's wiki has a bunch of algs, I dunno if you can print them.
4 No they are severely outdated, they were replaced by shengshou (If your looking for an 8x8-10x10, you should go Shengshou) but recently Moyu and Yuxin have been taking over big cubes
5 I dunno much about blind, Noah Arthurs has tutorials, I've been using them.

6. Felik's Zemdegs is the fastest all around cuber. 3x3 WR single is 5.25 sec by Collin Burns and WR avg is 6.54 by Felik's if my memory serves me right.
Skewb has become an event and magics have been removed. Also if you want to update hardware on other events: 2x2: most people use the Dayan but you have to do a lot of work to it to not make it pop. the Lingpo, Yupo, Wittwo v1 and Fangshi's do not but are catchier, still way better than any 2x2 you probably have. Mega: many people say Dayan is the best. Pyraminx: Moyu and Qiyi seem to be the best. Skewb: Moyu and Qiyi are also considered the best choices for skewb. Square-1: the Qiyi sq1 was just released and pretty much obsoleted every other Square-1 on the market. Clock: I hear the Lingao is the best.
Also Roux and ZZ have become more popular. The Yau and Hoya methods are both more popular on 4x4 than traditional redux, they are even somewhat popular on 5x5+. Also BindeDSA is currently learning Full 1lll, something that people of your time thought was Impractical.

1) ohh my friend I would recommend a Moyu Aolong v2, or a QiYi Thunderclap

2) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-3qLnfDZqG0 Collin burns has many other fantastic tutorials for F2L, his channel is https://www.youtube.com/user/collinbxyz

3) http://algdb.net/ definitely the best place for algs, http://www.cyotheking.com/ aswell which gives more resources for where to find algs

4) Shengshou/Moyu/Yuxin have taken that spot, Moyu Cubic Aofu 7x7, Yuxin 5x5, Moyu Aosu 4x4

5) I really can't help you with blind, I'm sorry, I hear Noah Arthurs has great tutorials

6) I'd just like to say welcome back, even though I haven't been around nearly as long as you

I personally prefer Moyu cubes (Tanglong, Aolong, Hualong) over Gans. The reason I don't like Gans is because the center piece of Gans is round, and that makes the cube feel unstable. By that I mean if I turn the R side by a small angle (like 15 degrees), the corner piece will rest at the small "alcove" created by the round center piece. This isn't a problem as Gans can corner cut pretty well. But when both left and right side are off by a little bit it locks up the cube.

Badmephistos has good algos for most cases. However I don't like about 20% of his OLL algos. You should definitely supplement with http://algdb.net/

Well, that's just wrong. I also practise everything (but FMC :p) and I think I've already accomplished a lot! Accomplishments don't have to mean WR/CR/NR. For me, accomplishment are also podiums, breaking subx barriers or overall PB at comps. Practising one event is boring, but that's just my opinion.

As for the FII, you can use it if you want to get into feet :D

agreed. Furthermore practicing for example big cubes help with look ahead for 3x3.
