I've filled them in.

If you have the Rubik's Cube as being invented in 1979, then doesn't it follow that we would consider the 3x3 to have come before the 2x2? Yes there were 2x2-like cubes around before Ernő Rubik's invented his 3x3, but I don't think that that's we're thinking about when we talk about cubes in this context.

In fact Ernő Rubik originally tried to create a 2x2, but quickly realised that he needed the edge pieces of the 3x3 to make his invention work. And of course 2x2s still have the fundamental components of a 3x3.

But who knows, maybe I'm missing something, I'm always open to learning something new.

The Cubing Historian has a good video about Rubik's precursors
.

The 2x2 you're probably thinking of was held together entirely with magnets. It did cause patent issues for Rubik's (and the Ideal company), but I wouldn't consider it the same as the twisty puzzles we know now.

I was planning on taking the quiz/survey for no reason but,

Why are they all GANs? Biased

The quiz was also very informal and trivial so I didn't do that either.

There is no correct answer for that and the quiz also forces you to choose the wrong answer when asking what came first, the 2x2 or the 3x3.

0/10 experience
