How to teach my friend wants to start cubing?

Hey guys, I have a friend who is interested in learning how to solve a Rubik's cube, and would like to become a solver like me. I printed out the Rubik's cube solution guide from the official website. I did this because I reccommended that he should start out by learning the beginners method. Is the Rubik's cube solution from the Rubik's website a beginners method?
