How to hand scramble Square-1?

imo it cant be done properly

This.

What scrambler are you using? What's wrong with computer generated scrambles? Do you find it hard to physically scramble the cube? Have you tried using random-state scrambler? Those scrambles are always very quick. I think I consistently average under 10 seconds with those.

When I hand-scramble, I normally do "random" turns for a bit, and then make the top face all have my D colour, without going back to cubeshape. This is somewhat random; the only problem is that corner separation is slightly harder on average.

Handscrambling a square-1 is perfectly possible, that's what I'm doing most of the time. No particular methods, just some tips:
- pay more attention at breaking your usual routines, and in particular at not always doing the same first 4 or 5 moves;
- do a bit more moves than needed (not hundreds, that would be silly, but something like 25-30 twists should be enough).
And yes, it's hard at the beginning, but it becomes easier with practice.
