I recently learnt one look pll and have improved my look ahead, but I'm still not sub 20, what should I do/learn?
Extra info:
I use zz and I'm not looking to switch
I need something I can improve or learn fast as I have a comp coming up in 2 weeks
I'm dual neutral (white bottom or yellow bottom, green, blue, red or orange front)
(Edit): for some reason when I do untimed solves and I just count (my seconds counting is usually within .75 seconds of the true time) , I am usually sub 20, even 1/8 solves or so are sub 15, I thought it was my hand scrambles but I used computer generated scrambles and it's the same thing.

How much OLL do you know? I think I'm at a similar place to you on terms of knowledge, I know 17 PLLs and 2 look OLL plus a few extras. I got to sub 15 by grinding, but you should also aim for fluid solves.

Edit- @LBr why eyes up?
He just does that on every post, It is nothing new.

Hard to say without more info, but I’d recommend making sure you can plan EOCross/Line (I recommend cross) in inspection and practice your transition into your first F2L pair. Then it’s a matter of eliminating pauses throughout F2L and grinding OCLL/PLL recognition/execution.

Thanks, I'll try to work on it, but what other information could I have included?

Switching to Roux is also a good idea, it can bring down your movecount, even with beginner's Roux method.

1. This thread is a month old

2. The original post explicitly said:
I use zz and I'm not looking to switch
So why would you feel the need to talk about Roux? Don’t bump an old thread just to say something completely unhelpful.

To be honest I have tried before to use eo roux, but <m,u> spam for a whole solve really tires my m fingers and I just personally feel it's not for me, but if there are any other methods in which adding eo makes it better I might consider it

CFOP with ZBLS And full zbll very viable method. You could finish all the algs in a few years and then be pretty fast.

True, but I have thought about it and I'd prefer > get solves sub 20 and just better and more refined in general > learn full zbll > eventually learn zbls
I'm not gonna learn more algs yet as it would not be worth the effort at my level

I'm not completely sure how ZZ works but I would say try to work on F2L and lookahead.

Welp since this got bumped, the only things you really need to do is plan at least EO+2 of your cross edges, practice your F2L solutions, and make sure you know OcLL and PLL.

I’d bet you will just need to work on inspection and turn slower in F2L to not make unnecessary moves trying to find pieces and making bad pair decisions.

Thank you I forgot to practice my f2l solutions, I've noticed they've been less efficient than they used to
