How to convince parents

I really wanna do more events (like pyraminx and clock) but my parents won't let me buy more even though I only have a 3x3 and 2x2. Even when I show them budget cubes, they won't budge.
Any advice?

Maybe negotiate a deal with your parents, they will buy you those cubes in exchange that you do something back

Having just a 3x3 and 2x2 is a privelage, because you dont have other events to distract you. Get really good at 3x3, which you should learn PLL and eventually OLL.

go to a comp and ask around. sometimes people will give you old stuff they don't need anymore.

at one comp I was given someone elses old puzzle.

and at one comp I gave my $5 pyra and $5 skewb I started with to a beginner.

It also takes time to mainly focus on one event to get fast at it, so might as well get fast at one event before you start on the next.

Well yea, most parents dont pay for chores, but they respect if you try to help, especially a lot and can gift you if you are consistent enough

Even after attending 140 WCA comps, and 18 years of active cubing, my parent still do not support this sport and try to stop me before every comp yo.

Its a sad resistance.

Yeah but what I mean is that they only give me money on Christmas & birthday
Even when I put in hard work to get my 3x3, I'm sure it was a one-off
