How much do you lock up?

So I've noticed recently that I get slowed down a lot (especially in the LL) perhaps due to lockups. I've counted, and I lock up about once (but sometimes not at all) during the OLL, and 1-2 times during PLL.

So my question to you is, how often do you lock up? And if I lock up too much, how can I go about decreasing that? Is it my cube? I have a type D cube, which isn't thought of as a terrible cube, but the problem is, I only have one, and (according to lubethecube.com) they are very inconsistent.

I posted this in "Expert Village" because I was directing this question to you expert (sub-20) cubers. I myself am just about 20 seconds, no less.

And I searched.

On my type A I only really tend to lockup during LL if I am turning too quickly. On my type C it's a different story. If I turn just slightly too quickly I get tons of "mini-lockups" where I don't lock up enough to stop the turning of sides, but just enough to slow down my turning. I really have to pay attention to aligning the sides when using my type C, but other than that I'm really starting to prefer type C to type A DIYs.

Remember to focus on aligning sides before doing the next turn. Also, lockups are a sure fire sign that you're turning faster than your ability - try slowing down just slightly.

In my opinion the lockup depends on two things:
your turning style and the cube.
From past 4 months i was using type D, and i could easily achieve sub 20 averages in past month with very few lock ups. In last month when my type D broke I started using c4y cube and it locked up so crazy, it was very difficult for me to even get sub 25, but after one month of use, my turning style changed according to the cube and now i average around 19 with the c4y one.
one more thing that i usually lock up more in those plls and olls which i have just learned or didnt do much practice for.
