How good can roux get?

My biggest thought is that we are soon coming to a point where we can 1-look first 2 blocks every solve. Kian can do it in ~1 in 50 solves or maybe less.
Imagine how fast roux could get it you could do that every solve!
How feasible is one looking f2b?

I think Roux can reach the same speed as advanced CFOP (CFOP+OLLCP, CFOP+ZBLL). However, WaterRoux on the other hand, can be faster than all of them. You can see WaterRoux in the new method thread, you omit the FR edge in the second block and push the corner into the slot in a random orientation, then you solve the 5 corners with CMLL, TCLL+, or TCLL-; you then solve the last 7 edges with an expanded Waterman set of algorithms. The number of moves for TCLL+/- is the same as CMLL; the number of moves to solve the last 7 edges is also the same as to solve the last 6. So the end result is that WaterRoux is like Roux where you can skip an entire F2L pair. The drawback is a comparably high number of algorithms compared to regular Roux, but a similar number of algorithms as CFOP. With a move count that is lower than Roux.

really good lookahead will be basically the same speed as "one look" ff2b. being able to "0 look" the whole solve is where it's at, most challenging part is recognizing cmll in sb, other steps are much easier.
i guess you are right.

You're right, he's probably lying.
What makes you guys think that? I kinda agree that he may not be sub 7, but he is very close. He has been to ~4 comps and has a 7.8 average, and if you watch the videos you can see how nervous he is in comp, it's insane.

Well, Alex got a 7-flat Ao100 whem everyone else in the world (bar feliks) was much slower than that and I think the only reason he didn't improve beyond that is he stopped practising.

Not enough reasonable rate to assume that he would get sub7. Also Feliks was never slower than Alex.
I never said he would get sub-7. I merely stated the fact that he had achieved a 7 Ao100 and that he could have improved beyond there.

I also specifically stated that feliks was not slower than him.

Making vague statements about Minh Thai has near enough no relavence to what I said as Minh Thai could well have been faster than he was (as could alex) so claiming he could be sub-6 does nothing to contradict or even weaken the statement.

Who is Minh thai?

You said that he got a flat 7 average and he would still improve if he didn't stop practising. That's equivalent to saying that he would eventually be sub7 mate.

I've never really tried Roux, just CFOP and a little ZZ, but somehow I thought that one of the advantages of Roux was a low alg count. Nevermind who may or may not be able to get fast on Roux, but doesn't this WaterRoux eliminate the benefit of a low alg count?
