How fast can one possibly get with 2-look oll/pll?

yea u did way too many cube rotations, even wen you had the orange/green pair set up to insert already. Also your pll takes u a long time to execute. All caused by cube rotations and/or not recognizing the case right away which hurts your time.

But I guess that it also depends on how fast you do F2L. So I can't really give you a range, but if you can do F2L in low 20 seconds, anywhere from 30 to 35 seconds might very well be your average time.

depends on how you do the f2l.....
for me?? 47 secs.... (30 sec on cross n f2l... mostly f2l... the other is for pll and oll)

I just did an average of 12 with 2 look OLL/3 look last layer:

best RA of 5 is 12.87, in italics. I think I had 3 EO skips.
There are much faster people than me though, sub 12 is definitely possible and has probably already been done.

with 4 look LL, add about 2s to that average.

@ OP: I think the barriers for learning full PLL, then full OLL should be decided by yourself. If you want to learn algs, then go for it. If anything, it'll give you more time to choose better algorithms. But if you want to have a more rewarding experience, I'd suggest learning 1 look PLL between 20-25 seconds, and 1 look OLL between 16-20s.

There really is no limit.
But of course you'd never be as fast if you did know full OLL.
Well...
Let's make a few assumptions:
-The cube is indestructible and has perfect performance.
-The cube is 57mm.
-The motion is immediate with no acceleration.
-There is no pausing during the solve.
-The solve is entirely composed of quarter-turns (to minimize time).
-The average move count of CFOP with 4LLL is ~70 (couldn't find an actual number, and didn't want to count, so I estimated).

The farthest piece from the center: R = root((.057^2)/2) =~ .0403051 m
The distance traveled in one quarter turn is therefore (Pi/2)R =~ .0633111 m
The total distance traveled by the outer pieces of the cube through a solve is then D = 70(Pi/2)R =~ 4.43178 m
The minimum time for a 70 move solve, therefore, is D/c =~ 4.43178/299792458 =~ 1.47828(10^-8) s

If every turn cuts 45, the distance required per turn before the next is halved, which in turn halves the final number: ~ 7.391413(10^-9) s

The time is increased by relativistic effects and accelerated motion, and becomes non-negligible when you consider the mechanical properties of the cube itself, regardless of the solver.

In a more realistic sense, a 20 TPS average seems like a reasonable maximum for human ability at the moment (though nobody's that good, that's the point), which would make the average time for a 70 move solve ~3.5 s. Most people will hit a wall around 10 TPS, with a 7 s average.

I've been cubing for 2-3 months now and I'm getting average of 49 seconds.
I'm still an intermmediate speedcuber at best and I'm using F2L + 2-look OLL + 2-look PLL.

I'm asking you people, what is the barrier for 2-look OLL and 2-look PLL?
I know that the question is very individual and depends on the cuber, but if you do not have an answer, how fast are you with 2-look OLL/2-look PLL?

Cheers.
Colin Burns gets 12 seconds with 2 look

I have no need to learn full OLL, as I can force an eo skip very easily throughout the f2l by either doing a sexy insert of a sledge insert. I still average about 30.
