How far to plan ahead in inspection

2x2: Whole solve. (please don't give me **** about this again)
3x3: Cross and first F2L pair
4x4: First 2 and a half centres
5x5: First centre
Megaminx: First "Star"
Magic: Entire solve
Puck Puzzle: First 2 pairs

****

Edit:
If you can plan out the whole 2x2x2, you can plan out all 12 edges for the Petro method during inspection. I only believe your claims on the megaminx and magic; don't know what is a puck puzzle.

edge doesn't equal corner

there are 8 corners and 12 edges. Plus I told people to not give me **** again!

Edges only have 2 stickers each and are much easier to track. If you can't do it in one look, you should be able to easily do it in 2 looks rather than the 10 or so looks that it took you in your video.

2x2: FL
3x3: cross
4x4:First center, sometimes second center
5x5: 2x3-first whole center, sometimes more
6x6: first 1x4, sometimes second 1x4
7x7: first 1x5, sometimes parts of second 1x5

2x2: FL, sometimes the whole solve.
3x3: Normally only the cross from the inspection, but as I finish it, I look for an f2l pair.
5x5: Don't do this seriously, but normally a 1x1x3...
Pyraminx: Mine broke before I could get anywhere near decent at it :(
Megaminx: 3 or 4 cross pieces.... sometimes 5 but that's rare
Square-1: The horse shoe shape thingy
Magic: Entire solve.

2x2: First layer
3x3: Cross
4x4: First Center
5x5: Part of the first center
6+7: Barely anything
Megaminx: Most of the cross (star)
Clock: Starting side, first move.
Pyraminx: Center orientation.
SQ1: Star (6 corners) on bottom.
