according to sites and videos, its best to solve the corss on the bottome to prepare for F2L. Problem for me is i dont really know how to do it. I can do it, but its very confusing. Maybe its coz im not even that good with solving the cross on the top, but since i can see it, it is much easier. are there any algorithims meant to be learnt? coz i find the rotations that u have to do when its solved on the bottom, much harder then when solved on the top. any help will be appreciated lol. ive also heard ppl say blindfold then solve, i dont understand.

There aren't any algs to learn. Its just something you have to practice to get faster at, don't worry about speed for now. Just try to use fairly few moves, definitely less than 10, and try to find a good solution. After you get the hang of it, inspect the cube, then solve the cross without looking. (this really isn't as hard as it seems, tracking pieces is just a matter of practice.

Start solving cross on bottom, you will get better with time. Next time search before creating a new thread. Chances are that threads already been made.
Edit: Also learn the colour scheme around the cube it helps.

Keep solving on the top until you're comfortable. Honestly, an x2 move doesn't make too much of a difference unless you're pretty fast. There's plenty of other more important stuff (F2L) to practice and get down fast. My advice is to get comfortable where you can see the cross on the top and then switch to cross on the bottom when you feel ready.

When I used Fridrich I did cross on left, you can still see the cube, but you have less of a rotation after cross. You don't have any if you continue with cross on left.

Just try to figure it out yourself. It's not hard, and you'll probably get a lot more out of it. Once you have a good idea at what's going on, start watching some more advanced vids and work on doing less moves.

I switched from cross on top to cross on bottom. Initially I also felt very awkward and the moves felt very slow and I can't even orientate how the pieces move. As you practice more, you will eventually figure things out. It is hard to explain. Now I feel awkward doing cross on top.

One of the keys for me is to be able to do good D turns with finger-tips. When you go from cross on top to bottom, your finger-tricks changed from <RU> to <RD> which can be just as fast. In fact, I am starting to feel like some RD finger-tricks may be even faster than RU cos the ring finger is strong and hardly need to exert energy. It's like you let the momentum carry through. But before you get there your fingers need to be conditioned to do D turns. My right hand fingers are much better than my left hand at D double-triggers.

Practice doing it blindfolded, at least the three first pieces since the four is easy to track on the go. And yes, use D turns, know the order of the faces (ie if you have yellow on top, on the right of red is green etc).

watch both badmephisto's tutorials . first one : Advanced Cross ( Go to you tube ) and second is about solving it on bottom

but first try to do it as fast as possible on top
also try to do it on left . its really easy .

I don't personally do cross on D. I do cross on F.
Cross on F allows for a cross-on-U kind of inspection/execution, with a simple x' to get it to D. Not too bad.

That sounds like it would be bad, considering all the pieces you are looking for are now on the back and out of view. I'd stick with cross on U if you're doing that.

And to clericlaw: practice practice practice. Learn how to utilize Uw turns(aka u or double layer U turns) during cross as much as possible.

I do cross on F
I gotta try that, because i usually have to turn the cube while making the cross since my F turns and B turns are are hard for me

You shouldn't be using F and B turns. You should be able to manipulate the cross in such a way that any F/B moves will be like U/D.
Try solving cross optimally. It's a great skill to develop and have.
