Yooo thanks! I literally would've gotten 4 but I forgot corners memo (which was correct btw) on two of them. Still, I smashed my goal and got a 3:17, which is PB5 or so for me, and it's really good.
But.... now it's time to hear from you guys - I would really like to know the thoughts of everyone who sees this message regarding what I should do next leading up to Queensland Open 2026 (likely to be the next comp in Brisbane), which is in
mid-July

(super late ikr
)
Either way, what should I practise in the next 4 months leading up to this comp?
Here are some thoughts:
I really want to get faster at
3BLD, and my goal is to average ≈1:30 or so, and to learn 3-style edges. My plan for that would be to grind out solves for the rest of March, as well as getting my letter pairs nice and well-learnt, and then start learning 3-style edges. If I have like 1.5 months or so left before the comp and I've accomplished these things, I would then probably move on to 3-style corners.
I want to get good at (maybe)
3x3 and (definitely)
5x5. How I would go about 3x3 is just grinding cross and learning some special F2L cases, which could get me down to maybe 12.5 or 12 seconds by then (hopefully). For 5x5 what I would do is do F2C + Yau edges, L4C, and L8E practise separately, as well as learning the L2E cases as there aren't too many and most of the cases are pretty nice.
OH could be a fun idea, but I would just get better at that through 3x3 and learning a couple of optimised LL algs.
Anyway, if nobody replies I'll just go ahead with 3BLD practise!
