How can you tell if a cube is worn out

I've had my GuHong since late July, I've been using it constantly, tensioned it, lubed it, but I think it's starting to wear out, it's been popping constantly for the past week or so, my tensions aren't even that loose.

Are there any indicators/things I can do?

Clean, relube, tighten, turn better. Or buy a new one, but I suggest trying that afterwards.

well worn out is a pretty subjective term, i personally love when my cube is very broken in, or even worn out to some but if youve had a guhong for around 3 months it is probably most likely not "worn out" i have a fii from may last year and its amazing but back to your problem as many people will probably say, just relube it and retension it to accommodate to the wearing out

depends on how loose you like it. i knew when my haiyan was dying because the screws started becoming loose...

It could be that ur turning style is becoming less accurate. I had that before and I locked up a ton on my AV

You clean your cube everyday?! I clean mine like every 3 months...

it might be eating the plastic from constant lubing

Clean the cube (Clean with damp cloth or submerge)- No core
Lubricate again (No vaseline or petroleum jelly)
Tighten cube
Slow down your solves


If none of these work, you have 2 choices depending on your own situation.

Have money:
-Rebuy cube

Do not have money, but lots of time
-Relearn every algorithm with muscle memory and don't overshoot.

This also depends how much you cube, 100+ solves can cause that
