Anyone have trouble telling some of their cubes apart?

I recently bought 12 RS3M 2020s. Gave 6 away and the others I am using to test various lubricants and setups. In the past I always took off the label stickers. With recent cubes I've been keeping them on just to make sure I don't mix them all up.

However, the six I am using to test I want to be able to easily tell them apart. I ended up buying some cheap numbered stickers from amzn. Not sure of quality (not vinyl) but hoping they stay on. Other ideas were putting a colored sticker under one of the center caps or some other mark like from a permanent marker. But wondered if exposure to lubricant could make it fall off and mess with the spinning screw head.

Was wondering if anyone else has trouble telling their cubes apart after their collection grows? I think I am about to seriously slow down my collection phase... but noticed there aren't labels like this on the various cube merchant sites and wondered if anyone else has a trick for telling various similar cubes apart.

Mo and I usually used have identical cubes (we got cubes in pairs) and we simply put a piece of paper under a centre cap and added a small dab of lube to stick it in. A sticker as you said would work much better and it won't interfere with any of the components.

Nope because I have no duplicate cubes whatsoever. I know every cube I've bought, but at some point I will make a puzzle collection spreadsheet because the collection is still growing.

Dont have this problem with my collection alone but me and my close friend have a lot of the same cubes so one of us (me) put those colored dot stickers under the yellow center cap (kind of like what zain and mo does) so even if we cant tell the cubes apart based on setup, we have the sticker.

Back when I cubed regularly I used a labeler and labeled them with their differences (eg: Lubicle Speedy, Modded Tips, etc)

Yes telling the cubes apart get super tough for me, since I own 120 3x3s.
Sometimes it takes me a while to find my main 3x3 2H cube after a MBLD attempt, since the tengyun blends well with all the budget cubes like Yulong, RS3, Meilong, YLMs that I have for MBLD solving.
