How can we solve a Pyraminx fast

Hi Guys,
I want a new NR...

Could someone please explain me which method is actually the fastest on this puzzle ?
And is it like magic (anybody can do a WR after 1 week of practice) or more "difficult" ?

Take a look at this. And I actually think you can go sub-10 avg with minimal practice. To break the current WR avg, I am guessing it would take a Russian Pryaminx, along with around 10-20 hours of practice. But who knows

Along with the 5x5x5 the Pyraminx is still the coolest puzzle.

1. do 2 quick moves
2. wait for 5 seconds and look around a bit
3. solve all of the pyraminx but the tips
4. solve the tips
5. put the pyraminx down and see the time is only 5 seconds...

3. solve all of the pyraminx but the tips
4. solve the tips
5. put the pyraminx down and see the time is only 5 seconds...

Steps 1 and 5 must also be done quite quickly.

Please don't underestimate the current WR for Pyraminx. You will need much more than 10/20 hours of practice.

Another very good way to solve pyraminx is with Fewest Moves (serious)
If I do a layer by layer method I average around 15, but sometimes I can just see the entire solve during inspection and get 5 or 6 second solves with 9 or 10 moves for everything except the tips. Those are not lucky solves where 1 or 2 edges are already connected correctly to their centers btw.

I use a style where you connect 2 centres + one edge to a bar = I, then add another centre and one more edge so it becomes a V, do the same a third time and get to a W, end by solving the three LL edges (ELL) using 1 of 5 algs.

After you learn a decent method to solve the pyraminx the best thing to get fast is to practice inspection, most times I can see my first two steps in 15 seconds inspection and that helps times, if I only see the first step times are usaly 20% worse than if I see two steps ahead.

Pyraminx is not so much about twisting the puzzle, it's more about looking ahead, both in inspection and also during the solve, that and the rapid solving makes the Pyraminx one of the funniest puzzles to solve.
