I average 14-16 on 3x3 and 1:50-2:10 on 4x4. How's that for not proportionate?

I'm pretty disproportionate for 5x5 and Square-1.
I'm 54th for square-1 and like freakin 439th at 5x5.

What I would do:

1. Stop solving 4x4
2. If not that, then just practice. If you like it, get a good cube.

Yea I don't really like solving the 4x4 so I think I just will stop practicing.

I believe you are confusing the buildring with normal edge pairing. Go to www.bigcubes.com and look at their 4x4 edge pairing tutorials. Some of the fastest 4x4 solvers in the world use 2 at a time. Oh, and practice. Alot. I average 16-17 on 3x3 and I average sub-1 on 4x4, and if I don't solve 4x4 for a week or so, I get around 10 solves in a row that are sup-1, but after that I am back to normal. Practice is key.
