i learned the frindrich f2l, but whenever i do it, it takes so long and is like the only step that keeps me from getting around 30 seconds solve. i know all of the like possibilities, but it is still slow for me(even though its slow, its still faster than the beginner method.) please help.

work on your lookaheads. im not good at this either, but ive gotten better the more i practice it. while your doing the cross, try to find where your f2l pieces are so you know exactly what to do without taking the time to seach your cube after you finish the cross. try to see where they go when doing f2l so you have them all located and dont have any wasted time. (sorry im not that great at describing this, im not very good at this so someone else could probably give you a much better explanation but i think i got the basics down :)

It's funny how many threads there are about 'how to get faster at X'

PRACTISE!!!!!

I only recently started really using the Fridrich method, but I have noticed a few things already. One of the main things is when you are doing a corner edge pairing, alot of the times you will want to keep the cross color on the outside, not facing you.
And when you are solving the cube, just go slowly on that part and try to not have any pauses.

When practicing f2l do you solve up to that point and re-scramble or do you solve the rest of the cube and then scramble?

If you have not tried keyhole, I would suggest doing that, because it is like a stepping stone between the beginners and Fridrich method.

And I personally just solve the entire cube then scramble, because it helps you work on other part too. And it doesn't feel right to leave a cube partially solved.
