how can i get faster on 4x4

i dont really know how can i get faster on the 4x4, the method i use is getting the center, then pair up the edges, first time i pair 6 and the 4 and then 2, the solves it like a 3x3, so how can i improve, my times are 2:20 average, any tips i can get faster?

Work on look-ahead.

Your 4x4 times also depends on your 3x3 times because it involves solving a 3x3.

i know i can get faster by practicing, but im new to 4x4, so im not too sure about it, and my 3x3 is ok i guess, 20 seconds averge on the 3x3(not on 4x4)

Try different edge pairing methods instead of 6-4-2 to see if they make a difference. (ie. 2-2-2-2-2-2, 6-2-2-2 etc)

Other than that, practice.

You're wrong Paul, they're both fast... I use 6-2-2-2 and I have a sub-55 average...

Anyway it's not your method that is slowing you down, it's your lookahead and possibly your cube. Just practice a lot, work on finding pieces faster and turning faster and so on.

Whichever method you use, solving 14 edges is definitely not faster than solving only 12
