How Can I Decrease my Time?

in order of importance:

practice
use f2l rather than corner then edge insert (no algs)
practice
switch to cross on bottom
practice
learn all edge PLLs (H, U, Z -- 3 algs but u already know U so more like 3-1=2!)
practice
learn all PLLs (21)
practice
learn 7 OLLs with all edges oriented
practice

did i mention practice? if no, practice
if yes, practice

edit: i should really follow this plan lmao!

i got it all except the practice part. i learned 2look LL with 8+7+21 algs total earlier today (added the 8 algs in addition to 21 PLLs and 7edges oriented OLLs). hope this will sub30 me without any practice. my current method is sub20 easy with practice. o welllllllllllllllllllll

BYE ALL~!!!!! BRB TMRZ

Hey dude I was there too, but I think that you should google intermediate solutions then advanced just work your way slowly up until you have mastered one of the advanced solutions, like the petrus method, roux method, or fridrich method.:) and remember to have fun!

Where may I find a decent guide on this f2l method? I looked at a few youtube videos and I get the idea, but I'd like to do a little reading on it as well.

Okay...well I've started practicing the new method...takes me about 5 minutes now to solve a cube...

anyway...how much practice does it take before it becomes easy and fast? Also solving the cross on the bottom is slightly more challenging right now...how do you solve the cross more efficiently?

I have the same problem!!!:p

It takes some practice before you will feel the drop in times..don't worry if your times are 5 mins atm..that will drop fast when you feel comfortable and understand the new method.

www.cubestation.co.uk <-- go there...good explaination of the cross and how to get better.

Thanks!!!!!!!!:D

Wow, thanks for the tips and everything...

I've spent about an hour practicing on and off and now I've gone from 5 min. to under 2 min... I'm sure it'll get harder as I try to approach the minute mark, but not too bad... it took me forever to get under 2 min. with the lbl method but I guess the previous experience with that has helped me with this new method.

Peace.

I highly suggest learning F2L (corner edge pairs) intuitively rather than memorizing 41 algorithms.
