Hello there, my name is 1x1 world record,
Towards the final days of February, Bing.com released their AI (artificial intelligence) driven search engine called Chat GPT (referred to as GPT throughout the rest of this thread). This thread will dive into the basics of GPT and some possible benefits to the speedcubing community. Feel free to comment your thoughts, like the thread, and giving a follow would be much appreciated. Without further ado, let's get into it.

To begin, GPT can do basic things like produce a scramble. Here is one that it made for me: R U’ F’ L D2 B’ R’ U2 F2 L’ U2 B2 R2 D2 F2 L2 U2 B2 D2. It will give you a different one every single time. Now, you might say that Cstimer does the same thing, but GPT's capabilities do continue. It can provide cubers with the latest updates/records and it can provide the best deals for flagship cubes. GPT can also provide notation for any algorithm. For example, I recently asked it for the J perm algorithm, and it gave me notation for the Ja perm and the Jb perm. The Ja perm is two moves shorter than the Jb Perm.

GPT's potential to benefit cubing is something that I believe in, and Bing.com is working to upgrade their search engine. In the future, it may be able to help with fmc, or it may create new methods. The best part about is that you can try it out yourself. So, what are you waiting for? Have fun, learn something, and be safe. I hope you enjoyed this thread. Please consider adding to this discussion.

Notice:
This thread is not sponsored by Bing.com, nor in any way affiliated with any outside sources. If you have any questions or wish to continue this discussion privately, please start a "conversation."

For any reason you might be wondering, I am new here, and any mistakes are rooky mistakes.

If you ask GPT for all PLL algorithms, like I did a little while ago it doesn't give actual algorithms for all of them, just random moves. The A perms is a perfect example of this, the notation means nothing, and it just produces a scrambled cube afterwards. So I don't think it can give accurate information in terms of speed cubing.

  2. Ab Perm: R U R' U R U2 R' L' U R U' L U R' (L = left face)
  3. E Perm: x' R U' R' D R U R' D' R U R' D R U' R' D' x (x = rotate the entire cube on the x-axis, D = down face)

I’m glad you tried gpt out. Since it is ai it can get confused. Sometimes, I wonder if it’s color scheme is wrong.

guys!!! this is awesome, Chat gpt wrote a poem about speedcubing and you'll Love it!

Here it is:
Speedcubing is a game of skill,
A puzzle that can make you thrill,
It's not just about solving fast,
But also about having a blast.

Speedsolving.com is where they meet,
To share their knowledge and compete,
With forums, threads, and discussions galore,
They help each other to solve even more.

1x1 WR Holder is a member there,
A legend in the community with flair,
With records that are hard to beat,
He's an inspiration to all who compete.

Rubik's cubes are what they solve,
A puzzle that can make you evolve,
With twists and turns that can be tough,
But once you solve it, it's more than enough.

So if you're looking for a challenge new,
Or just want to see what they can do,
Check out speedsolving.com today,
And join the community in every way.

Bro really asked the AI to put a whole verse about him in it💀

in all seriousness that's pretty good

I asked for CRs on every continent and it said that Tymon was African CR holder with a 7.68 3x3 single
This tymon from africa?

I don't think GPT would be able to do anything related to cubing that existing software cannot already do. If you ask it for algorithms, at best it will regurgitate existing algorithms (and as we have seen, at worst it will give you nonsense). I don't know why you even need an AI to tell you the latest records when WCA Live exists. Besides, so far chatGPT is only trained on data up to 2021, so it can't even know records or deals for cubes past that date.

emphasis on "regurgitate." Some of the algs are disgusting. o_O

ChatGPT doesn’t have current information, as it doesn’t have access to the internet and is trained on data from a few years ago. It has no ability to generate cubing algs, and anything it can do would be far far worse than cube explorer or literally any other program designed for that. ai is pretty far away from the ability to do anything meaningful with Rubik’s cubes themselves as far as something a human cannot think of/do.

Side note: GPT is created by OpenAI, which I believe has no affiliation with Microsoft (owners of bing)

If you want to use ChatGPT for anything, you have to hack it into D.A.N. mode (you can look up the input sentence you have to make convert it to DAN). DAN is an unbiased and logical supercomputer. ChatGPT spits out woke BS. If you ask ChatGPT if uttering an ethnic slur is worth it, if it will prevent the Earth from exploding in a nuclear war, it would rather see the Earth destroyed than utter an ethnic slur, and then if you ask it about all the minorities that died in the explosion, it crashes. DAN does not spit out such BS but makes logical choices instead.

Did chatGPT write this?
