Hello, everyone!

First, I'd like to address the question you are most likely to have if you look at my username. Yes, I'm a female cuber.

Okay, moving on :)

I've actually been cubing since December 2013, but just stumbled upon the "Welcome to SleedSolving.com" message, so I decided to introduce myself because why not?

I currently average around 35ish seconds, give or take a few and I use intuitive F2L with 4 look last layer. I learn 2 look oll about 4 weeks ago and 2 look about 2 weeks ago. I learned F2L during some time in February. My PB is 20.xx seconds. I use a black Zhanchi as my main and that's about it. Oh yeah, I'm 14, turning 15 in a few months.

Now: The Questions

After 3-4 months of cubing, what were you averaging and using what method?
When should I start learning full PLL?
Should I learn full OLL? Is it worth it?

I've been going on twisttheweb.com a lot lately. My username is cubequeen, so feel free to say "hi" if you every see me on there.

Well, adios :D

Hello fellow female cuber and welcome!

After 3-4 months of cubing, what were you averaging and using what method?
I was still using LBL and averaged about 28 sec.

When should I start learning full PLL?
Full PLL is pretty easy to learn so maybe when you are sub-35 or when you feel comfortable with 4LLL. But honestly it's up to you as long as you learn PLL before tackling OLL.

Should I learn full OLL? Is it worth it?
It is possible to be sub-15 with 2-Look OLL so in my opinion you don't need to learn it yet.

After 3-4 months, I was around that speed using cfop, although I've been switching to Roux over this past month. I learned full PLL from the beginning, and I say learn it now, just to get it out of he way. There aren't many cases and only a few of them have slightly difficult algorithms. Learning full OLL is cool, but it really only makes a significant difference when you're around 15 seconds and lower, in my opinion.

After 3-4 months of cubing, what were you averaging and using what method? I don't have an answer for that.
When should I start learning full PLL? As soon as you average under 40 seconds, and is comfortable with solving.
Should I learn full OLL? Is it worth it? I can sub-15 with 2-Look OLL, it's not worth all the time finding all the algorithms and drilling them. Learning F2L techniques is better IMO.

Welcome to the forums :D

Hello there and Welcome to the forums.
Now to your questions.

After 3-4 months of cubing, what were you averaging and using what method?
I am cubing since Jan 2nd week and I hit my sub 20 avg roughly in March 3 rd week. That also makes it roughly 3 months! I use CFOP as my main method and Petrus as practice method! I use 2 look oll and Full PLL

When should I start learning full PLL?
You should learn PLL after you are sub 30. I started learning them when I was about 24-25 seconds!

Should I learn full OLL? Is it worth it?
If you want to get sub 10 times then OLL is essential however you can be sub 15 without OLL. Till then practice your F2L, Cross and PLL as they play a vital role :)

Welcome to the forums!

After 3-4 months of cubing, what were you averaging and using what method?
I have been cubing since around September of 2013, around December/January, i was using 4LLL and intuitive F2L. I averaged around 45 seconds, because i didn't really cube much back then.

When should I start learning full PLL?
I started learning it about a month ago, when i was averaging like 40 seconds. I feel that i learned it a little bit early, but i think you could start learning it now, or whenever you want to.

Should I learn full OLL? Is it worth it?
I haven't learned full OLL, so i can't tell you, but i would definitely not worry about it until you have learned full PLL and average around 20 seconds.

My current average is right at 31 seconds.

About 20-25 seconds using roux.

There's no reason not to start PLL as soon as possible, though most start at around 20-25 seconds.

Full OLL is probably worth doing at faster times, pretty much all top cubers use it.

Yeah, when I saw your username my first thought was, "Is that really a female cuber?" I'm always glad to see other female cubers.

After 3-4 months of cubing, what were you averaging and using what method?
About 35 seconds with CFOP. Full PLL and 2LOLL.

When should I start learning full PLL?
I say learn it when you feel motivated. I went right into full PLL and 2-look OLL right from the first week.

Should I learn full OLL? Is it worth it?
Yes, eventually. Again I would say to work on it when you feel motivated. But keep in mind that F2L is worth more than full OLL.

Welcome!

At 3-4 months I had switched to CFOP and was around probably an 16-18 second average.

Learn full PLL whenever you'd like, I learned around 20 seconds.
You won't need full OLL for a long time. I was sub 13 before I actually bothered finishing it. Once you're down to a 12-13 second average, full OLL is definitely worth it.

Thanks for all the replies! The tips really helped! I'm thinking of learning PLL in a few weeks or so. I've been getting pretty good times: around 25-35 seconds, which is amazing for me. Hope to see everyone around!
