Hello I have recently been able to average around 35 seconds with beginner method, should I move on to fridrich? Or should I get better with beginner?

F2L should be discovered rather than learnt in my opinion. Go through some example solves (I bet there's hundreds of CFOP ones in the example solve game thread)... And look at how each pair is formed and inserted. And experiment yourself!

If you need any additional help, search for badmephisto's tutorial on YouTube.
You should easily be able to work it out yourself however.

And as grandmaster waffle said, there's many more methods to use.
Try them all before telling me you want to use CFOP :)
Or at least try the big 4 and spend more than half an hour (15 mins if you're lazy) experimenting with them.

At one point I was using 5 methods equally.
So these are proven to be fast:
Roux, Petrus, ZZ, CFOP(fridrich)

And you should try out Heise to expand your knowledge, and Waterman because it's cool.

Method advertisement :P

It's all what you want, go on into CFOP if you want, but as 5BLD and Waffle said, check other methods, they're cool and can make you stand out....

That can't honestly be why you think people use methods besides CFOP...

OT: I definitely would suggest you try out all of the big 4. It seems most people go straight to CFOP from the beginners method because it's so similar, that's what I did. I still use CFOP and am fastest with it, but I hate it. I messed around with Roux for a couple months and it was really fun but I started using CFOP again because I wanted to get better times in comp. I toyed around with Petrus for a day or two and I just couldn't get into it. Now in the last week I've been messing around with ZZ and I'm greatly considering switching to it as my main.
So basically just mess around with all 4 and see which one you like.

Pretty much what Waffo said.

Your times will slow down as you experiment with intuitive F2L at first, but you'll get much faster over time. F2L is rather simple and just requires some experimentation...
And, yes, CFOP is not the only method. I suggest at least trying out the rest of the Big Five methods (I count Waterman as one of them because there are sub-15 solvers out there; it's just not as popular).

However, it's entirely up to you when you want to learn F2L. If you struggle, there are videos out there. There was this one "hunter" guide I came across once on these forums (I'll edit when I find it)...

Edit: Well, that was easy to find.
