i recently purchased a cube4you brand pre-assembled white cube, and right out of the box it turned amazingly and had this clicking sound after each individual turn that was helpful. I dont know how or why, but i ended up lubricating the cube and changing the tensions, my silicone spray has petroleum distillate, so today i sprayed some silicone into a container and waited an hour so that the petroleum distillate would evaporate, then i took a clean new paintbrush and brushed the petroleum-free silicone onto each piece. after working it on for approximately one hour, it turns much worse than the silicone spray that i didnt spray into a container first...any explanation? does anyone know how i can get my cube to how it was when i first baught it?
help with C4y 3x3x3 speedcube?!

Exactly what kind of lube are we talking about? CRC? Liquid wrench? Remember that as long as you work in the lube immediately after spraying, the petroleum distilates evaporate, the fluid doesn't need to be left out for that to happen.
oh yea and i forgot to mention, i blow-dried the cubbies with a hairdryer before reassembling the cube.

I think the blow-drying evaporated all the lube as well as the propellant. don't blowdry, and you should be fine.

I'd clean it out well, then just spray and work in.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. BUT if your gonna lube it at all, I would stick with CRC or Jigaloo which can usually be found at Wal-Mart.
