This is my first post on this website but am wondering if anyone has any great technieks for improving my times using the beginners method. I don't mind learning come OLL or PLL but have no idea what they are.
If you suggest learning some of those please give me links to guides/videos teaching me how to.
Also some faster ways to complete the cross would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

What's been working for me is just watching where the pieces move, getting an understanding of what the moves are accomplishing will greatly help. And once you have the moves down, start working on looking at where the pieces are that you'll be working with next.

That's what's been making my times faster. Don't concentrate on being fast at first, work on being smooth. Fast will come once you're turning smoothly and steadily. You get to a point where the moves are automatic after doing them so many times, so it makes it easier to look ahead.

Hi Clay, and welcome to the forum. My best advice to you would be to spend the next several days reading through all the old posts on this site and reading everything that has been posted about this subject before. It hasn't been so long ago that I was new to the scene and felt lost, but everyone has been there and we've discussed the move from beginner to intermediate a LOT.

Read old posts and use the search function to find help on the things you don't understand, it's certainly a great learning tool. Also, check out the wiki (Click "more" in the toolbar under the logo at the top of the page), especially the FAQ.
