help!!! my F2L sucks

i started solving with F2l but then noticed that they takes a lot of move, dragging my time

im very certain that i have good look aheads, but my times are:

cross: about 1 sec
f2l: about 13 sec
1OLL: about 2 sec
2OLL: abput 2 sec
1PLL: about 3 sec
2PLL: about 3 sec


i tried slow solving, but just couldn't figure out better moves

could anyone gimme some tips??

you can do the cross in 1 second? I don't believe you.
It looks like your LL needs more work than your F2L...

not exactly, i just simply leave out the extra numbers, so it's a bit longer than 1 sec

(my real test times are: 1.76, 1.83, 1.48)

try a cross average of 12, I bet you'll be closer to 2 seconds

I don't think your F2L sucks, but I suggest you learn full PLL, and work on executing your LL algs faster.

just keep on practicing f2l. try doing algs from more than one position like inserting pairs in the back left corner and stuff like that. it helped me alot.

also you should probably start learning full pll.

Try doing complete averages of just F2L, but start slow and gradually speed up. Even if your F2L time is 15 seconds at first, as long as your turning smoothly and never pasuing you can then speed up.

My average F2L at the moment is only 11-12, and I can Sub-20, so some work on your last layer is worth considering, because your F2L is not bad.

It seems to me that your LL speed is the main source of dissatisfaction, not your F2L speed. Actually, your F2L isn't that bad. If you learn full PLL and some more OLLs, you will definitely get sub 20 with your current F2L speed.

Also, you claim that you have a very good look ahead. If you can solve the cross in "1 second" or at least <2 s, your turning speed should be fairly fast. If so, your good look ahead and fast turning speed should result in an amazingly fast F2L, which they don't.

In short,
just learn your LL algorithms, and go practice

how to test whether your look-ahead is good ? :confused: . im subbing 18 wif 3LLL and i still feel my look-ahead isnt any decent at all .

well , determine faster is what i feel in general

and dont worry 'your' f2l doesnt suck its just f2l in general xP

but anyway the best way to improve f2l is the cliche saying of "slow down and look ahead" and find better ways o doing f2l as well as study the algs.

Full PLL. I use 2-look and can do OLL in 3 seconds. So OLL (2-look) is just some practice but def learn full PLL. And your cross 1 second? You sure?
