Just means going... As in...
So how's your roux going?

Ok, your like me but the other way round...
I use Roux as main (duh) and CFOP alongside it... And in my opinion it would be better to stick to roux.

Gilles' mooing tutorial.

Lol...

I still don't know what mooing is. >.<

But, back to the topic:
We're all talking about how great Roux is and some tutorials for it, but, to the OP, don't just discount other methods because of some nice things you hear from Roux solvers. Just because we like it so much doesn't mean you will too. I still suggest exploring the other methods as well, and especially CFOP if you're currently using an LBL method and haven't really been exposed to much block-building. CFOP will be the easiest to learn, and remember you can always switch whenever.

Yeah. Well he will undoubtedly try CFOP anyway... No one can resist that method.
But seriously, OP, it's nice to try loads of methods then stick to one as you then have a wider knowledge. So have a go at least the big four.

And mooing? It's MUing :D

Edit: pseudo-ninja'd; like pseudoblocks. R2 ones of course. I can only ever cope with speedsolving with R2 blocks because quarter turn blocks give horrible CMLL recognition. Oops that was off-topic. Ish. But this thread is about methods...

Hi

I want to speedcube, I am using layer by layer method and i would like to know what a good speedcubing method is. I like simple methods, so nothing that requires me to remember alot of algorithms. I know methods like fridrich and petrus but they seem too hard. (maybe because the guides on youtube are crap)

whats is your method, how fast are you solving the rubiks cube and what method should i choose?
please help
thanks
what kind of question is this. i mean reallyyou make a thread to help you decide what method to use when there a bunch of threads showing what methods the majority of speedcubers use.

FYI - just because the majority of cubers use a certain method doesn't mean it's fit for him. It seemed to me more like he was asking what method he should use based on his desires in a method (though some of them are silly - he basically asks for one with little to no algorithms but not much intuition).
Whilst there are many threads about similar topics, he's asking about what method people would suggest for his personal preference. Maybe we should get a sticky'd (non-biased) thread about methods and what they are like. That might help decrease the amount of threads like this. We don't have one already, do we? (Then again, there's the wiki, not to mention some people would disagree with some sentiments about particular methods, but we could always build onto it)

Does Roux have as many variations as CFOP?

Many experimental ones. And lots of little tricks. Like I try to influence the second block during the first block, then try to influence EO during CMLL. And then it's autopilot for the mooing
Some do it differently.

And nope. Number of variations does NOT correalate to how good the method is. In fact, each method has its potential.

@phlippieskezer
Good idea. Or maybe a thread where you can ask questions about methods. Like the one answer thread, but for methods.

OT: we need a proper rouxscussion thread, too.

Last 5 Edges in one algorithm! Yea boy! Sorry, I get excited about experimental methods.

The one answer question thread can be used for method-related questions as well. And, meh, I don't know, maybe I'll start a write up about it later, but allow others to send in information about the methods I don't know.

Urgh, I hate taking the intuition out of LSE. It's the funnest part! >.< (for me)
