Hi everyone. Just a quick introduction for myself and hopefully can get some interactions! I've been solving for about a year now, although I have had a fairly large break of a month in the middle of that when I broke my first cube (some non-brand 99p cube from Amazon).

At the minute, my average is now 17 or 18 seconds (did an average of 100 yesterday and got 17.90).

I was introduced to cubing like I said, about a year ago by a school friend of mine, and he taught me the basics. I went home, and instantly ordered my first cube from amazon, and haven't ever looked back.

Ever since the start, I've used CFOP. Never learnt beginner's, which does seem to hinder me in some aspects of solving, however I've managed ok without any of that. After using a couple of basic tutorials to learn two look OLL and PLL, I moved on to trying to memorize all PLLs and improve my F2L.

Now, I'm in the process of learning the last 10 or 15 OLLs that I do not yet know. I hope to have memorised these in the next few months, as I don't have too much free time right now.

Since then, I have learnt how to do a multitude of puzzles, all WCA puzzles except Square-1 (which I've promised myself I will eventually learn, it just sits on my shelf otherwise!).

As for hardware and PBs, I use a Lanlan 2x2, White Dayan Zhanchi 3x3, Shengshou v4 4x4, Eastsheen 5x5, V Cube 6, V Cube 7, QJ Pyraminx and QJ Megaminx. Probably some I've forgotten. Respective PBs are around the following if not specified: 2x2 - 2.86, 3x3 - 10.46, 4x4 - 01:13.xx, 5x5 - 03:26.xx, 6x6 - 05.57.xx, 7x7 - 09:43.xx, Pyra - 07.xx, Mega - 03:25.xx. :D

Hi and welcome, great to see even more UK cubers taking over the forum!

You're going really well for a year of cubing - this forum and the wiki are great resources. I joined not long after starting cubing, been going about 6 months now and I've found loads of valuable info here.

I can't offer much advice, as I'm a good 5 seconds slower than you, but hi and happy cubing!!
