I am actually about one month into cubing. I started on this site with a sub one average. Right now, I only do the 3x3, but I am soon to get the 4x4, 5x5, and the megaminx. (unfortunately, all of my CUBE shaped puzzles are rubiks, but I didn't know when I told my mom.) I am planning to mod my cubes anyway. I currently use 4ll friedrich to solve it. My other hobbies are art and aerodynamic design. Right now, I know a couple of the deeper things about cubing, but I still have a lot to learn. Good luck, and :tu.

Welcome. I could not get below 1 minute 30 with my Rubiks brand cube. After I bought my first Dayan I started to make real progress. What is you average now?

Welcome! I'm also new here, and i used to only have rubik's brand, just like you. But after i bought a dayan my averages dropped from 50s to 40s, and now it is around 30s

I am also new here and I have been cubing for 5 months. My average is now about 15 seconds with a witlong and I'm getting a zhanchi. You'll see that if you keep practicing you'll hit sub 10 in less than a year.

Really? I feel as though my average is staying the same. I still use my rubiks brand cube, which actually started to pop quite a bit recently.

I actually can average sub 20 with a rubik's brand.
Its is too heavily modded. Can cut 45 degrees!
But, if you can get a DaYan, get it!

If you are gonna get a dayan cube and you don't care about your rubik's brand anymore you could lube it up with shampoo. A friend of mine did that and at the Dutch Open I tried it and it could easily do a U4 with one flick

I want a dayan cube. Does shampoo ruin the cube, though? I mean, U4 with one flick?

I think it dissolves the plastic

I guess it gives your cube U4ia. Until it melts, that is. I think that some cube lubricants do that if you use too much.

Maybe. I am selling a lubed and modded dayan zhanchi. Only the stickers need to be replaced. Maybe you'll be interested since I sell it at the same price as a normal zhanchi. I just need to receive my 55mm zhanchi and then I will sell it.

Well, it's just about Christmas, and my mom has gotten me everything. She rarely lets me order anything just out of the blue. I'll try to get one for my birthday, though.

Oh, and, I just got a new avatar. It is a real picture, just with inverted colors. Like my last one.

I also just got a sub-50 3 of 5 average. My full average now is 51 seconds.
