Would anyone be willing to list a top 3 list for 3x3 cubes each year from 2010 until the present? That being the three most popular 3x3 cubes in 2010, the most popular in 2011, etc., etc. Thank you very much in advance! I have a huge interest in hardware and would like to buy all of these puzzles.

Is this the top 3 cubes or just the top 3 new ones (because this could get very contraversial in recent years as it comes down to preference a lot as right now the best could be a range of cubes). Also, what event are we talking about?

I simply want the most popular. Such as in 2010 I know the Alpha V was popular. So the most popular speed cubes throughout the years for regular 3x3 speedsolving. no OH or Bld or anything​

Hey! Are you sort of new to cubing? If yes, you have quite a bit to catch up. anyway, I was also quite curious when I started (2014). I have done some research and got pretty good info. Note that 'popular' is quite subjective and is hard exactly pinpoint the popularity of one cube.

Below is my opinion, so it can be very inaccurate but I'm gonna give it my best shot.
2010 - Alpha V/Type F2
2011 - Guhong/Zhanchi
2012 - Zhanchi (very unsure)
2013 - Zhanchi/Fangshi Shuangren/Weilong
2014 - Aolong V2
2015 & 2016 - Too many releases.....

So yeah, that's it!

Thank you so much! I'm relatively new. I started learning how to solve in 2014. Put it down. I started speedcubing about 10 months ago. I never cared about hardware until April when I bought a GTS. Now I want every popular cube to test out.

As others has said most popular is always going to be subjective, but in my opinion 3 of the most popular ones this year have been the Gans 356 V2, the GuoGuan YueXiao and the Moyu Weilong GTS. Also maybe the Valk 3, but since it was only been released middle of last month it's hard to tell right now i think.

I agree, but I stopped at 2015 because it would be more efficient to go look up a cube store for example, all the details are there.

Still need help on 2012 tho.

Many people liked the 55mm Zhanchi for 2H in 2013. Not sure why.
