Why is there no new hardware for skewb?

There are new skewbs, but none can beat the GAN

The Dyan Sewb, the X-man skewb, and the MoYu skewbs are ALL good. (I own the GAN, and it's not actually the best imo; I think it's top 3 though)

I agree, even tried adding bong core to the MoYu but still it is too flexible for comps, the GAN is far more stable and reliable for comps, and the DaYan is too uncontrollable and less consistent as the GAN, and the corner cutting also lacks behind. A skewb better than the GAN would be a GAN with a 10-magnet core. And the Xman, it is basically irrelevant, but interestingly enough I have tried modding it to maglev with a Tornado V3 pioneer core, but it is still too slow and the corner cutting also lacks behind.

Edit: In fact my main skewb is a GAN skewb, modded with 10-magnet core and also with yellow GES nuts from the GAN pyraminx.

cube companiesncant invest in every cube at once, they have rsearch and hire and budget ad manufacture new and different parts, and i doubt there is enough demand for skewb that they need to make new skewbs rn. main focus right now are nxns and probably fto, and ig megaminx. it would be much better of a business decision to make a new fto rather than a new skewb (i believe). if you get more people into skewb, ad increase its demand, then yea, youll get that new skewb hardware.

Gan Skewb is the only good skewb in a LONG time. god 5 years is long
Same thing for Pyra. The only thing that top solvers use is a modded or old batch YLM, Weilong or the Maglev RS (Parker Trager uses it). every other option that came out is straight trash or mid (e.g. Gan Pyra, Dayan, Diansheng, etc). These good cubes came out FIVE YEARS AGO so they are so dated and new hardwares has to be made.
also for Squan but you could argue that the MGC v2 and Gan are decent compared to the MGC v1.

For the cube brands, it is about the marginal improvements possible with limited R&D cost, and also the marginal benefit of investing in the hardware of an event. For the cube factories, the hardware of certain events are more worth investing in than some other events. For instance, for 3x3 or 5x5, there is no 1 hardware on the market that monopolises the market yet like the GAN skewb do, at least the existing hardware are not as unbeatable, and that the cube brands may think that they may have chance to stand out if their hardware can marginally outperform other competitors by quality or by price. However if there is already a cube like the GAN skewb that monopolises the skewb market, and the incentive for other cube companies to invest in skewb is lower, as they will have to invest much more to beat the GAN, and at the same time the market is quite saturated and there is also less business opportunity to make money out of this event by making new hardwares.
