Godly Guhongs for sale

I'm asking my supplier if I can get 1,000 T parts with the shipment of Zhanchi's
As said several times before here and in other forums: "Currently there is no supplier who does supply only T-Parts - neither is DaYan producing T-Parts separately." Unfortunately not.
And there is a reason for this: The T-Parts are not produced separately, but shot together with the rest of the Kits, in one die. There is no separate die that produces only T-Parts as far as I know. Hence these pieces are not available separately from suppliers. But go ahead, ask... and confirm my statement. And I am just telling because I don't want to get people to full of hope regarding getting T-parts without the appertaining cube.
I too hope that this situation changes soon... but it's more likely to not happen, since DaYan soon will introduce the LingYun II which already comes the T-Parts. And it would be just uneconomic to self-limit sales of the LingYun II by selling T-Parts separately (used for the GuHong or other cubes).

lingyun II=zhanchi?
God - I wish we would be consistent with these names (it is hard enough with these chinese names)...

Guhong/Lunhui will probably 'die off' overtaken by the next (or next-next gen) or a competitor's brand in the near future. I don't see business investing in a "T" part with so short a life span.

It IS consistent. You just got it wrong (no idea how you came to that conclusion). The ZhanChi is the ZhanChi and the LingYun II is the LingYun II.

By the way, I don't know why I called the pieces 'T-Parts'... Probably because Bradley just called them like this. Anyway, I usually call them anchors since they anchor the edges inside the cube and originally - translated from chinese - it should be something like 'cross piece'.

You're right, and I am doubting the supply of t-parts anyway... as for the remaining lunhui's I will be able to sell them at the flea market at a descent price.

If I could somehow make T-parts that are similar and have the same effect that would be awesome! I would only use them in the Mods

The Lingyun II is an improved version with the T parts.. It will likely be released near the end of summer or early fall.

Well, actually I would just offer the 'anchor-less' LunHuis in your web-shop. I am sure there would be enough people interested in buying them for a 'decent price' since it is not bad at all without the anchors.

And you can make the pieces by yourself, but buy selling them and/or using them in the modded cubes that you are selling, you would infringe some patents... I actually already am thinking of something else to replace them, but at the moment I have too many other things which are keeping me busy...

Regarding the release date of the LingYun II: Well, it already is introduced. I'm not sure if this is 100% fixed or if it will change (I'd say it's going to be later than that from what experience tells me), but it is planned to release it to the market in late July or early august.

ok. I guess the idea probably stuck in my head as the very hyped next gen was supposed to be the zhanchi (with prototype released, etc). Is linyun 2 just linyun 1 with T's?

It is rather strange - Dayan was avoiding the T's in the Zhanchi (or is it simply a next gen of guhong?) but the T's stay in linyun 2 (I would have thought dayan would be working on the next gen lunhui, eg lighter, etc).

Sorry to hijack your sale thread - just trying to understand all these new Dayan cubes...

I'm guessing cubes with the T's have their disadvantages as well, so they're making some cubes with T's and some without to appeal to a larger variety of cubers. I don't know though, I'm just speculating.

.

I will announce the anchor-less lunhui's tomorrow on my store tomorrow.

I do think the anchors themselves are a crucial part of the patent and I'll decline making them. Thanks for the discussion, it helps!

Thanks. I remember reading that, but apparently it didn't registered earlier...lol

Good - I'm curious to see them there. Also I guess/suggest you make a video about their performance so people actually can see themselves that it is not bad at all?

Well, actually I am pretty sure it wouldn't infringe anything but moral in the states since I doubt that they have any patent at all over there.
Oh, you are welcome.

By the way, I am the guy who posted the comment on your "Godly GuHong"-Video starting with "Witeden and Yu's video?" - just so you see the connection there...

DaYan I = "TaiYan". Some crap cube, not very popular, some incorrectly called it the TaiYan, but the name became too popular and it was taken on. There's a few TaiYans, but none are really rated well so I'll just stick them to one category.
DaYan II = GuHong. There are three GuHong models, POM, old ABS, new ABS. All have the same design, just different screw spring sets or different plastic (POM vs. ABS)
DaYan III = LingYun. Apparently the flaw is they pop a lot.
DaYan IV = LunHui. Feels very similar to LingYun, meant to be improved on the pops (with T-parts as apparently LingYuns pop a lot, not in my experience though)
DaYan V = ZhanChi. This has ridges on the edges, no T-parts. Faz was given a white one at a meetup today and it's now his main cube.

"T" for "Torpedo"...

I highly doubt that the LingYun II will be an improvement in anything other than anti pop. The LingYun is about minimalism, adding stuff defeats that core sentiment IMO.

I need to get more LingYuns before they stop making them.

Ordering one later on today.. Hope some are still left! Its going to be my first proper cube..
