So I was just messing with the screw/spring in my C4Y DIY because the creaking of the spring was bugging the crap out of me. What I ended up doing was:
Taking the spring out and using a dremel on the very end where the built-in "washer" is to keep the sharp point from touching the plastic
and before I put it back in, i sprayed a little CRC heavy duty silicone on the screw and spring
I don't know which was the solution to the problem, but it worked!
and a side note: don't worry if it feels mushy when you are tightening the screw. It shouldn't make it turn worse or anything (it actually improved mine
)
and it will creak as you screw it back in, but it won't once you finish tightening it.
Hope this helped even though it was sort of long winded xD
EDIT: Turns out it's the silicon. I just did it to another side
