Fukuoka Kengo James' Progression Thread

Sorry for not replying - I don't get notified if you do @, I guess I will switch that now :)

They are very good algs - Carter Kucala is WR holder, so definitely use his algs. I assume you know Advanced (I am not sure) but if you use Intermediate definitely switch. Would definitely recommend knowing full Advanced before learning NS.
What’s the difference between Sarah’s Advanced, L2L and NS?

What’s your goals for Worlds?
Worlds is coming in 2 weeks and I'm competing in 2x2, 3x3, skewb and pyraminx. As I will have chance to compete in 2x2, 3x3 and pyraminx as well in early September in Singapore, I'm gonna focus on skewb in worlds (but I have not practiced skewb for a long time so I will have to pick it up again)

For 2x2, my goal is to get sub 5 avg.

For 3x3, my goal is to get sub 17 avg and sub 15 single.

For skewb, my goal is to get sub 5.5 avg, which will place me into Japan NR20.

For pyraminx, my goal is to get sub 10 avg.
Will get on my flight very soon

3x3 avg is just trash but 13.90 PR single is really nice.
2x2 pure sub 5 is decent as well, just that the 3rd solve could have been PR single.
Skewb isn’t the best but at least I got NR30 avg, so I’ll take it.
Pyraminx is okay considering that I got sub 10 avg, but I got +2 out of a PR single because of the silly tips.

Fun story about my pyraminx round:
After I got a +2 out of a PR single in the first solve, they gave me the wrong pyraminx in the 2nd solve. I was maining a PiCube Premium non-ballcore Weilong, but they gave me a non-UV GAN Pyra. I refused to solve on it and didn’t start the timer. I asked my judge to call a delegate out, but he asked me to just solve on it. I refused him again and asked for an extra as I have seen the scramble already on the other pyraminx. Then, they asked me to go back to the waiting area (and actually the score sheet wasn’t even mine). Then on the next solve when I was signing on the score sheet, I saw that someone has already signed on the 2nd row with a 47s solve. I told my judge that it’s not done by me and explained to him on what happened on the “2nd solve”. At the end, I got an extra and managed to get a sub 10 avg.

I was wondering what method you use for Skewb at the moment? I average around 11-12 seconds and want to become sub-10, I am a little unsure of what to learn next (I use the beginners method).
