IGN: server_timeout. A discord server would probably be fine.
 
So far there’d be 8 members, which I think is enough to start. I’ll create the SMP and discord, but also will post anything announcement related on an SS thread so as to not exclude anyone. Would people prefer I create the world as soon as possible and just open it to the public, or would they rather have a set starting point where everyone can start at once? (Likely either in a couple days or this weekend)
 
Sad, I don't have the authenticated version of minecraft... I'm a pretty good player though, is there any way to host a cracked server?

I don’t think so. You’d have to buy an account to play on like Hypixel and whatnot. I admit I used TLauncher, but after I was really interested, I bought an account so that I could do more cool things.

I’m posting this in the Local Cubing Groups subforum so it’s on the homepage and because there are many other threads that aren’t strictly cubing based or local groups already, but I understand if it gets moved to off-topic.

I got a decent pc, and I was actually thinking about buying the Java edition today. I would love this!
