I'm just not a fan of participating in the game solves like this one. However, it seems like quite a few folks enjoy it

Maybe you remember this game used to be pretty popular at speedsolving.com in the past. Back then, there was an interest but no simulator integrated into the forum. Nowadays it seems to be almost the other way around.

I miss the forum atmosphere from 2008 when I made a speedsolving.com account for the first time, and people like Stefan Pochamnn, Bruce Norskog or Michael Gottlieb actively discussing here.

Assuming you can´t solve OLL and PLL by heart, that´s bad news for me because I can´t solve them by heart either :). Nevermind if you actually can solve them by heart.

  • If guessing and looking up what the most popular LL methods/algs currently being used are were some of my favorite things to do, I would happily continue.
  • I mainly wanted to help during the F2L and void cube parity phases on this first solve to get things started.
  • Although I used to take pride in solving the cube with intuition (which could be the best excuse for me to continue), it got old for me when I developed a mathematical (non-commutator) way to solve the nxnxn cube.
But enough about me... and back to the solve!

You can't shame the community into taking interest in threads like this. Either they like it or they don't. (It's their right to try to use their time more wisely.)

  • I was just thinking about Stefan the other day. I learned a lot from him! (Not necessarily cubing stuff, but logical reasoning and common sense.)
  • cuBerBruce was quite the contributor too. He knew how to crunch the numbers!
  • qqwref is still quite active in cubing... just not here.
For those who would like to see threads in which the 3 stated members above participated in, look no further than Best/Most Useful Threads.

It didn't stop me ;-). Granted though, I might have killed the game for some time now. Luckily the next solver can cancel my move out if needed.

I still remember the reasons he posted in 2015 why he planned not to be active here anymore. I can clearly see why he is not active here now.

It took me a little while to understand how this worked but I figured it out. Pretty cool :)

And may I suggest to add in the parameter "&repeat=0" so that when you all manually click back and forth to see the last moves done ... that it doesn't start the sequence over again! (Annoying.) But if the next participant (and onward) uses the following, then that headache will be elliminated.

(Note: I didn't add another move. Just made this "fix" for the next person.)
