Yesterday, while my dad was fixing my computer in the morning I decided to do some solves. My DIY cubes hadn't been lubricated so I used my old cube to solve. I had like two 25s and some 30.xx and when I scrambled another cube I saw a pretty easy cross. I timed it and I though I at least had a 24 or 23 but when I looked it said "19.60"!

Now I'm wondering if it really is possible to avg. sub-20 with the method I'm using now. Would it be possible to avg. 18 sec. with best times like 16 using what I'm doing now?

Congrats. If you want to get real quick, I'd recommend you find a method that is very efficient, instead of going keyhole. You can build the F2L using cross/CE pairs, or you can build it like Johannes using blocks. If you want to try Roux, Petrus, or Heise, go for that. Good luck.

If it works for you, its good!

I would say, coming from a Keyhole F2L, fridrich would probably be the best way. You could gradually learn F2L, while still using keyhole. So your times probably wouldn't take much of a dip.

Yeah, I've been practicing intutive pairing also. But I have an F2L sheet of the cases so I'll probably start learning that. Maybe before my next competition(May 26 arrgg!). Keyhole still pairing sometimes would help too I assume right? Like when an edge or corner is already in place then you just place the last piece using a keyhole style pairing method?
