I would like to know the fastest method, in your opinion. I currently use Fridrich, and average just about 1 min. So I am thinking about switching methods (To get faster).

the most popular method by far is fridrich and the current wr was set using it so i'd like to think that its very good. Petrus is okay but i haven't seen anybody seriously use it for 2h solving below 20 secs. mostly just 1h. there arent very many people who use the others simply because there arent nearly as many tutorials for it. the people i have seen though, on youtube, are very fast. if you were to switch methods i wouldn't do it on 3x3. it would be fine on 2x2 and 4x4 or larger because those methods generally either don't change too much or don't require that many new algorithms.

CFOP IS DA BEST AND ROUX IZ FOR DA NEWBS
But seriously with a good amount of work you can get to a good speed with any of the methods. Personally zz seems like a very good choice for oh, and for 2h it would be a tossup between CFOP and roux, they both seem to have great potential yet their styles are very different. See what suits you.

Experiment with each.
Use the one you like.
They all have approximately equal potential for amazingness.
Then again, METHODS DON'T HAVE SPEEDS.

As for you, keep using fridrich if you like it. If it gets boring, learn the others. If you like another one more, switch.

Uvafan switched when he was like 40ish seconds to zz. Now he's sub 15. Its doable depends on how quickly you can progress and who know you might end up better with one method over another

I think most people vote for their method and not the "fastest". the poll isn't realyl helping.

From looking at what people have achieved, I'd say it's probably easier to get fast with Fridrich... The UWR avg-100 is done on Roux, so clearly you can get super fast with it, however it's worth noting that there are only like 3 people sub-10 with is method. ZZ has what 1 person who's sub-10? so it's clearly not easy to get super fast with, and Petrus has maybe a couple of people who are sub-13.

That is cool info! Thanks, I did not know these facts. I have been reading on ZZ (and trying) this weekend. I guess I will stick with CFOP and maybe try Roux one day.

People are voting for the one that they like best out of the ones that they've tried, and I would be willing to bet that most of the people who voted for CFOP haven't seriously tried and considered the pros and cons of switching to another method. I would recommend trying all methods and seeing which one is best for you.

Why hasn't anyone posted that methods don't have speeds yet? Anyway, I have used all of the Big 4 at some point and feel CFOP is the easiest to learn and get good at while Roux has alot of potential and is a method that can grow with the cuber. ZZ is great for OH and makes practicing ZBLL cases easier. I don't really like petrus and feel starting with a 2x2x2 is not a good way to start blockbuilding, but it still is a good method. Tricks from methods cross over so it is normally a good idea to at least understand all of them
