Fast cubing with LBL method like Erik

It's not the cube... it's the fact that Erik is fast. Seriously, he's really good at cubing. Most people aren't going to be doing sub-20 averages with LBL.

Well I wasn't implying that it was the cube. I was saying his cube sells for $2000 cos he's the WR holder, and therefore he's good and very fast :p

EDIT: Are you talking about this video?
I think he uses OLL and PLL ... not too sure though!
Try reading the description.

I read the description, this is why I was confused ...

It says Beginners method, but when you look at the video closely from 0:26, you'll see he finishes the yellow side (orientates it) and does some move with M, which isn't used in Beginners method, as far as I know.

In the description it says:

"Using the main beginners method (LBL for F2L and 4 Look Last Layer)"

EDIT:
So he uses OLL and PLL, but not full OLL and PLL!!

Maybe we had a little misunderstanding ...

LL starts at about 0:23. I looks like this to me:

EO: F U R U' R' F'
CO: R' U2 R U R' U R
CP: R U2 R' U' R U2 L' U R' U' L (U2)
EP: M2 U M U2 M' U M2

The algs don't really matter, it's a 4-look LL. Some beginner tutorials do use slice moves.

Perhaps you don't understand 4 look last layer. You do EO, CO, CP and then EP. His EP are mainly M-slice algos.

And as far as I know, only R' U' R' U' R' U R U R, U R U' R' U' F' U F and U R U R' U' F' U' F are the only way to insert the second layer edges. And really, there is no other efficient way. I mean by using total LBL, keyhole method not included.

Yah, I understood that it IS 4LLL.

It's just not my definition of Beginners method, but it doesn't matter, its still damned fast!! :D

Why does it matter what the algs are? And why is it different from a beginners method? 2 Look-OLL with 2-Look PLL is a beginners method, doesn't matter which algs you use.

As I said, MY PERSONAL definition; I thought of something else, when I read Beginners method, but I see and understand, that the method Erik used in his video is also a beginners method, and you are right, algs don't matter!

I always thought the beginners method meant one edge orientation alg, one corner orientation alg (usually sune), one corner permutation alg (A-perm?) and one edge perm (three cycle)

There are a bit fingertrickier ways (such as (F' R) (U R' U') (R' F R)), but those are definitely the most common and widely-used.
