Well, ive been practicing my f2l, getting decent look ahead and the such. I hear a lot of try to avoid cube rotation while doing the F2L. Ive been trying to do this but i just cant do it when the slot has to opened and closed with an F or B move. Is there any way to get around this F or B move?

its possible that you run into that problem. It can still be solved without cube rotation, but maybe its not as effecient as just doing the rotation.
For example,
set up: F' U' F U'. To solve the pair to FR, you can do:
l R U' R' U l'
start l with left hand holding thumb on U, fingers on D.
or for example
B U B' U to setup
solve: R2 F R F' R
