I was just solving like normal when I came across this scramble:

Scramble your cube with that scramble and white on top and green on front.
Now apply this to your cube.
z2 y'
U r U2 r' y R U R'
y2 R' F R U' R U' R' U2 F' U' F
y' R U' R' U R U' R' U2 F U' F'
U2 R U R' F' U F y'
M' U' M U M' U2 M
U' (OLL for that)
A perm

As you can see, by getting F2l pairs, and preserving F2l pair, then getting the cross, its WAY easier!

The rotations are wrong i think.
Also, it can be done using less moves :P.
lots of pairs to use.

Very true, But I'm not the blockbuilder guy, sam.

The point is to presreve and solve F2l pairs, while inserting cross pieces aswell, You should solve a cross piece LAST for this is easy and you can get a better recognition of the OLL case if you do.

I use that too if I got some easy pairs, but I won't advise to use it always, I tried it once, and you got problems when the edge you search is at the position of your cross, the peices can hide pretty evil, so you should use it for easy cases I think

Actually, I've been doing this a lot for a long time when I can't see a good cross, but there are lots of F2L pairs. It is a good alternative to color neutral cross I think. I called it pseudo-Roux. I can speed solve and get sub-30 with pseudo- Roux, pseudo-Petrus, and pseudo-Heise, but can't speed solve with the complete actual method. They are basically a corruption of the Fridrich method when I can't see the cross. When I solve, I do blocks (pseudo-Petrus), 2x2x1 blocks ( pseudo-Heise ), corner-edge pair first building them with M slice turns( pseudo- Roux). They all work quite well except they certainly aren't optimized and take maybe even more moves than true fridrich.

My suggested perfect method for me:

3x2x2 block. Finish last 2 F2L pairs. COLL. Place and orient last 5 edges.

so first solve all the f2l pairs and then solve the cross? but this would also mean that the f2l peaces would be a bit harder to find sometimes.

You usually don't have to find them, you just know where each pair belongs to.

i ment it in the way in the post under this quoted post. when you start with the f2l, there are more positions where the edges could be. like in the cross position. this could be a bit harder somethimes. but it isn't that hard :)
