F perm, the new member!

On what grounds do you base this? I am 'dual cross' capiable, and can solve just as fast either way, but I choose to only solve on white becuase I don't believe it gives enough benefit for dual. Either full CN or nothing in my books.

I don't care about your books

Whut. If you're properly dual-neutral you have two crosses to pick from. How is this not better than only having one?

Because I do not have the ability to look far enough into the solve to look for an easy F2L. An easy cross can for me often seem outlayed with a difficult F2l or a crappy LL. I would rather take that choice out of my solve. Also, I just completely always forgot to look for the yellow cross lol.

Welcome to the forums! I'd say 1 month to sub 30 is pretty awesome. I think it took me almost a year. Everyone improves at different rates though.
Are you going to learn/stick with CFOP or have you tried out and considered Roux, ZZ, and Petrus?

Yes, I do not do 5BLD though I've gotten somewhat good at 3x3. I have been trying to learn 4BLD today...

Oh quit being humble. :) F Perm, 5BLD is sub8 on 3x3...

oh stop it you :o

On what grounds do you base this? I am 'dual colour' capable, and can solve just as fast either way and choose to solve dual colours because it gives enough benefit. When there's no nice blocks for white, there is still a chance for good ones on yellow. Sure, numerically it may not save moves but there's a higher chance that I see a good one.

IMO dual does give a big benefit, though twice at much to look at in inspection. No problem. For me, full CN takes to long to really inspect properly.

Because you do not have the ability. Because you just completely forgot to always look for the yellow cross. Some do have the ability. Some do remember to look for the yellow cross, oh I think they do. Is the only reason why it is 'full or nothing in 'your book' because you can't do it?

Yes, that's the reason it is My book. I choose to solve the way I do because I have made my own informed decisions based on thing I have practiced, and trial and error.
You (5bld) solve roux, which is a whole different ball game, as CN is much harder, but OP solves CFOP, so my advice to him is to either commit to full CN or just single colour, IMO the extra practice time taken up by the longer inspection is wasted time, dependant on how long he practices, and what his future goals are.

i wouldn't take your "informed decisions" seriously though because your book hasn't even been published

Guys, you don't have to argue over me! I'll do dual cross, I tried it out and I liked it. It's all preference, right?

Sub 8! In a year! That's crazy 5BLD. You're a beast.

Yes, I have tried out ZZ and Petrus and Roux. Of these, I think it's most likely that I'll switch to ZZ, but you never know. I'll wait to be sub 20 first.

Thanks! I'll check that out.

So, everyone's advocating their method...

gogogogogogo full CN.

Not entirely true. I didn't tell him that I think he should switch to roux because low movecount MU spamming block building fun.

...owait.

But on topic, I forgot to mention that I live in central va, so you, wasianrubiks, uvafan, ninja storm, jonlin, and I could totally do a cube meet sometime.

Welcome to the forums F-perm! I dig the username. Nearly sub-20 average in a month is pretty boss. I've been cubing for about a year and a half and I average about 36 seconds. Enjoy your stay here at the ss forums!
