Hello everyone :), I just saw in a market this lubricant but I was wondering is there any difference between the red and green can? and it is true that CRC melts plastic? because in the wiki section of this page, appear that CRC can melt cubes... i dont wanna mess up ith my poor cubes :/. Thanks!

I think most people use the red one. I used it until I switched to Traxxas. I still use it sometimes depending on the cube.

EDIT: and it doesn't seem like it's melting any pieces, it just makes the cube smell and hard to turn until you break it in. It leaves behind some white stuff on the pieces sometimes but it doesn't do any noticable damage.

either is fine, Get the red one if you can (no pun intended) as it is more common.
But for melting, the cube MAY melt but will not effect the cube at all. You won't even notice it.
I've used 3 cans of red crc in my life.

100% silicon spray is all good. It's really useful for breaking in cubes. However I think it's common to use more specialised cubing lubricants these days, such as lubix lube or maru lube.

it is true that CRC melts plastic?
I've lubed tons of my cubes with CRC (I even emptied half a can of CRC into one of them) and I haven't had anything bad happen. I was always under the impression that the CRC wears away a tiny bit of the plastic, enough to make the cube faster but not enough to damage it. I was never 100% sure about this, but I can assure you, CRC won't hurt the cube as long as you break it in afterwards.

I use red. Works wonders for me. I'm actually lubing a friends cube right now, its full of Vaseline. Like, there is clumps of Vaseline inside his edge pieces. Its pretty bad.

In my personal experience, it's just not that great. But my experience is very limited, and I've only used it on a regular, Rubik's bran cube. That being said, it helpped, but the cube didn't feel that special after. I think Vaseline would work better (I don't recommend using Vaseline), just messier. But yeah, it's not like how I thought it would be. It's not messy, and it leaves a white stain on the cubes, but it doesn't seem to melt them. And you definitely need to make sure you clean the inside of the cube before using CRC.

I haven't had a chance to try Jig-A-Loo, but that might be a better option.

I dunno, though, like I said, I've only used it on a Rubik's brand cube.

I think that CRC works fine if you don't spray too much and work it in quickly. The worst it did for me was leave white stains. I just use Maru Lube nowadays.
