I bought a SQ-1 and 2 and today they arrived. The SQ-2 moved just fine out of the box, but the SQ-1 needed some lubing. Thinking disassembling it would be the same as a 3x3, I moved the top layer 45° and tried to force out an edge piece, just like you do with a 3x3. I ruined it by doing that. :fp
Through YouTube, I found out I've been doing it the very wrong way, but it was already too late. So now I only have a SQ-2. Does one need to know how to solve a SQ-1 to solve a SQ-2 (just like you need to know how to solve a 3x3 when solving a 4x4)?
I hope not, otherwise I am screwed.
