DIY screws & Rubik's cores

Does anyone know if Home Depot or Lowe's sells the same screws in DIY cubes from cube4you? If they do, which category are they in? Does Rubik sell just the cores for his 3x3's? If they don't, if anyone has any unused cores for some reason that they don't need, I'll buy one.

I checked the Lowes near my house for the screws that come with cube4you and they had the right size screw but the screw had threading on the entire screw. If you want less threading or at least half threading I don't think you can get them there. Maybe Home Depot but if Lowe's doesn't have them idk if they will.

I don't think that the threading would pose too much of a problem, but you should probably try it out.

You could possibly file the extra threading off.

I've never seen this screw, or tried it. But I think, it would be just fine if you put something like spacer, to kinda lock the screw. ^_^

wow...
major bump... I read the first post and was thinking back to this thread but then saw my reply and saw they were one and the same!
I tried filing the threading but it was too hard with just regular sandpaper. I think this was discussed in another thread from this time period.
